I'm a pretty shitty player. Good computer, no skills. I've never really asked for help but now I am.

What the hell am I doing wrong?

More kills than deaths in a round is rare for me.

I think your a good player, kill me plenty of times. Just keep playing, see how others play and remember what gun you use. A 10/10 computer doesn't give skill but it helps.

I haven't seen you play much so I don't know your style. Having more death than kills are not a bad thing if you are supplying health, ammo, lazing or taking out aircraft/tanks. We need people like you for us KDR whores to win rounds. But here are some things that have helped me.

  • Try playing more defensively. Be a squad leader, find a good spot to camp and cover your team mates rushing into a point.

  • If you feel like you cant hit anything, practice calm firing. Get a your favorite DMR or a Sniper (scout with straight pull is my preference) and practice aiming. Don't shoot unless you know your going to hit someone. Either by leading the target or waiting for a victim to stop running for 1 second. Work your way up to using 1x scope. If you like use flir/invr

  • Learn your gun. Practice hip fire and scoped fire against a wall 25-100 ft out. Look at the hole patterns, then equip the appropriate muzzle and grip for you gun. Also knowing how much recoil a gun has will help you do controlled burst fire. If a gun has a lot of recoil, switching it to single fire mode is your best chance.

  • If you are not looking into unlocking everything in the game then just stick with the same weapons. Constantly switching around will it harder to remember how the gun feels. Heck I was made fun of a lot for using a SKS with bipod and that ugly Chinese silencer, but damn I mastered that bullet drop.

  • If you are into vehicles, well I cant help you there as I suck with them. But for tank's I've learned working with CDU_Gunny is your best bet for high score. Flying? Yeah no tips there, sorry.

  • Pre-Firing, very dangerous in hardcore but if I know someone is around the corner and I have LMG, I'm shooting before I see the bad guy.

  • Before running out in the open constantly check all the hiding spots. Corners, Towers, crates, cells, etc. Even if you saw teammate run by safely, a bad guy named SlashDailyman could of just finished reloading.

  • Play some TDM to practice your close quarters madness skills.

I hope this helps a little. Like bullboy said, just keep playing and you'll get better. You'll always have good and bad rounds.

Yeah, i believe you are above average.

Saw you playing few times last days, was good

Do what I do.

Snipe

Be aggressive

Quick scope bullboy and axle constantly

Create an inner rage while playing

Have fun, go for knife kills on fellow Alliance members

Auvy I know you have your favorite setup but if you ever notice, I have different setups for different maps. For heavy vehicle maps, I always have a rocket, SRAW for me. I gave up the repair tool for AA mines for those choppers to. Trying mixing it up a little more and see if you notice a difference.

You definitely do not suck at the game. There are a lot of skilled players on our server with different tactics. Sometimes yo have to make changes to get the more kills.

I've found that its best to down sight before sprinting into a conflict head first. For example, before you run across an opening, down sight and the same goes for turning a corner, down sight. Also, controlled burst is a great way of making every shot count. So, let up off the mouse now and then if you're getting too much kick when shooting at a distance.

Git Gud.

Oh and I almost forgot, when you control a point pay attention to your spawn locations in correlation with your home base. Knowing general spawn locations can give you a good idea as to where to cover when taking a point. Also, cross coverage is invaluable--you can always count on everyone getting mowed down by a lucky ass flanker if everyone is looking the same direction. In addition to that, turn up your sound, listen for running and enemy language, them yelling about taking fire, handing out ammo or med kits gives away their approximate location. I'm sure you know all this already though.

Don't be scares do die, run and gun is a good tactic,  you can always re spawn. Try not to baby an armored vehicle in the base it usually does more damage to the team than having it get destroyed. Take a brake from the game when you're not having fun.

Some people kick you from their squad for having fun.

If hitting people is your problem, control your fire. I suggest a DMR they make you aim unlike select fire weapons. If staying alive is your problem when you die look at the map and take note of everything you see on radar and tell everyone on your team what you see happening (this is good advice for everyone that doesn't do it already) and adjust your kit to the situation you are spawning into i.e if there are 3 pieces of armor taking a flag spawn on the flag as an engi, if a squad mate is asking for meds spawn as a medic, this is a very easy way to gets points in game and brownie points with your teammates. As others have mentioned be aware of whats going on around you at all times especially sounds, voices from the other team, the sound of grenades hitting the ground around you and when you start taking fire make sure you figure out where it's coming from a.s.a.p). The best way to get better is to play with ppl that are better than you and pay attention to what they are doing, in our server that shouldn't be a problem, by that I mean that there are really good ppl in our server not that you are not good...
Rockets work good too! I tend to fire into an area where an enemy may be, ie under the stairs in Zavod, or at the walls into some of the buildings, I always take down the buildings especially in Metro. (But that is not in rotation) and if I can I fire at vehicles on landing pads/runways
Heck with rockets. What you need is a good assault rifle like the AN-94. Fire it in burst mode.

I've actually done a lot better guys, thanks!

I'm no TACxleRod1 or bu11boy, but I've been doing a lot better. Sometimes I'm getting over 2.0 kdr and I get all happy :)

Get in the TS channel.  Never play without a boost running. Pick one class and rank it up.  I'd suggest to start with Engineer.  Find a primary you like and stick with it.  Slow the game down by not running into points on your own.  Stay in cover until friends arrive.  Get in Squads with people better than you and approach behind them.  Chances are you'll cleanup kills that they started.  Move, especially behind good players. Do these things and rank up some weapons and you'll be fine.

BTW, you've killed me several times. Your're better than you think you are.  Also.... TS is a great source of tactical info.

A nice set of high rated gaming headphones makes a huge difference too and a superior surround sound peripheral card should help make pinpointing targets a bit easier.

This is HUGE. Sound is very important, as it just increases your situational awareness.

I have a set of AKG K553 PRO headphones and attached an Antlion Modmic to use as my headset. I picked both of these up on Massdrop (www.massdrop.com) for much less than retail.

Yep, quality sound is a game changer. Some surround cards allow for adjusting surround positioning, basically amplifying positional sound cues. On top of that, amplification of higher sound frequencies using EQ does wonders for footstep audio. With a good enough sound setup, you should be able to close your eyes and fire and hit your target. Eyesight not required.
