August 31, 20169 yr Well looks like I'm going to have to throw out my dual GTX 660 SC cards and buy something else. They aren't cuttin it for gaming anymore, and BF1 is very graphically intense vs BF4 and battlefront. I've been looking at the GTX 1070 Founders Edition, and it's running a steady 100+ FPS in BF1. Costs 450$ Anyone else running this card? I'm still running my i5 3570K CPU, I don't see why i need to replace it any time soon, as it works fine for all my gaming needs. It is a 5 year old build though http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160831/df3fe4c6d1f750f315c16207911c0d31.jpg
August 31, 20169 yr Wow, I have almost the same specs as you, i5 3570k and exact same Mobo. I have a GTX 780 and a bit concerned I will have to upgrade. My PC doesn't even meet min specs! I like that video card. I prefer the gigabyte versions more though for durable builds
August 31, 20169 yr Author I had a lot of good things with EVGA, but I do have a feeling that the cards are finally starting to go unfortunately. I get random stutters but excellent FPS in game, and the cards are old so I should be expecting it. The MOBO is perfect though, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr Have you checked out the gigabyte version? https://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16814125871 I'm needing to upgrade too, not sure what to get.
August 31, 20169 yr Author From what I was seeing, a regular 1070 will get 60fps on bf1, but the founder edition gets 100 FPS. I'll have to compare the specs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr I would hold off for the game to be sure. Beta won't read the drivers for my card either. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 using tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr Author My cards will run the game but I can only do medium, and pretty sure a card is shitting out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr There was a Nvidia driver update yesterday, make sure you have your drivers up to date Weapon. I get about the same fps as in bf4 in bf1.
August 31, 20169 yr Author I'll try updating my drivers, but I'm pretty sure my #1 card is about dead lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr Author I don't think anything really supports SLI anymore, it's going out of style Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr Author http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160831/f01059ee4306ed45145e64fcea38eb24.jpg This one has better clocks than the founder edition
August 31, 20169 yr I just looked into it. Founders edition is the 'reference' standard. It's interesting that the founders edition is more expensive but has a lower rated clock speed. I'll bet the founders edition can be clocked to the exact same levels as the overclocked cards though.
August 31, 20169 yr Author Yeah it's bs that it's more expensive for a weaker card lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr Another interesting thing is the EVGA 1070 has two fans, the Gigabyte model has three fans. What are those fans on the EVGA, 120mm? I'll bet the EVGA is quieter with larger fans but maybe not. I bet the Gigabyte fans spin faaast and are loud
August 31, 20169 yr Author Yes the EVGA fans are very quiet and do flow very good, gigabyte is known for being like jets but they do keep it cool and are easier to clean out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
August 31, 20169 yr Yea, I do think larger fans are quieter and put out more air, plus two fans vs three fans, one less mechanical failure point. Any reliability reviews yet? I wonder which card of the 1070 family is built best
August 31, 20169 yr Author I'm sure the FTW card is the best in 1070, but the boost clocks between the 1070 Super Clock and FTW are the same. The FTW card has a higher base clock that's all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
September 1, 20169 yr From what I was seeing, a regular 1070 will get 60fps on bf1, but the founder edition gets 100 FPS. I'll have to compare the specs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk So what does that have to do with it? My 970GTX gets 200 FPS... BUT, FTW model graphics cards come with a higher clock speed and are more likely to overclock further than a reference card. Each card is hand tested and guaranteed stable at the advertised clock speeds.

September 1, 20169 yr It seems that pretty much every 1070 card is the same except for the cooling. It seems the ftw card has a better cooler and heatsink so it can over clock best. Not that over clocking adds much anyway, maybe a few frames and heat.
September 1, 20169 yr Author Over clocking adds like 2-3 FPS so I'm not worried about getting the FTW model. The SC model has the back plate and has internal LEDs that light up too. Just some bells and whistles that I like Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
September 1, 20169 yr With a strong card like the GTX 1070 you don't need to over clock to play games at high setting and have an enjoyable gameplay.
