ok so this is how it works. my internet works just fine for downloading, browsing, and streaming, but when ever i load an internet intense game such as battlefield, war thunder, world of tanks, and rise of the tomb raider suddenly after less than 30 sec connection is lost and only way to get it back is to restart or disable the re enable network adapter(note game needs to be closed for this to work). now i can play minecraft online with no issues. i am wired but note that this has happened while having a wireless card in. only my desktop seems to suffer this annoyance. any help will be much appreciated.

First have you updated your drivers? I would use the manufacturers drivers and update to the latest driver set. I would suggest NOT using the windows drivers as they frequently are not the latest out there. You may want to check the firmware on your main board as well.If you need a driver update I would uninstall the drivers already installed before loading the new driver set. Also turn off ALL power management for the NIC if there are any. We have had an issue with workstations at the plant dropping from 1000 mbps to 100 then to 10 then 0 every time the monitor goes to sleep. Known bug with certain intel based NICs.

Worst case you could hit a best buy and buy an add on nic and load that up for cheap and see if the problem still occurs. Also post any errors in the event log you may have under the system tab. That will help a lot.

yes all is up to date . it is an asrock board if that helps at all. the strange thing is that there is no error just drops similar to how you described. i have had the network tab opened in task manager to monitor it and it will go from 1 gbps down to 100mbps to 0 and will act as if i unplugged the cable myself rather that it shut itself off

the motherboard is several years old now but worked fine till about 6 months ago when this started happening and it is uncommon for a nic to just up and fail but if it comes to it i am shopping for what i want to build in the future. also i forgot to mention that there are times where i wont have a problem with it for 3ish days and can play games but sure enough fail right in middle of a game

Look and see if you have something similar to this with more settings: I would try and disable all power saving options as it sounds like its doing something similar to my workstations are doing. The only fix so far is to turn off all power saving options and poof never looses connection again. Worth a try. Also you could try the add on nic card. They are usually able to be had for 15 bucks or so. Funny thing is ive been doing this long enough to remember 400 dollar NICs ;)

Forgot to say I had done the power stuff before and didn't work and I will have to drive to the city(hit up micro center) to get the NIC as the best buy in town doesn't have them go figure tried that last month didn't want to travel 30 miles for a $15 part if I didn't have to but that's life thanks though for the advice

yes it was and it is out only used it to test if the onboard NIC was failing but then the wireless failed in the same manner
If wireless failed as well it could be your router or your ISP blocking ports for gaming.  Unfortunately some ISPs will do that.

Amazon dawg!

Ahh yeah if the WiFi card did the same thing dont waste the money on a NIC as it will fail as well. Iz who is your internet provider? I have a theory but need to know who your provider is.

It's a good possibility it might be if you have a phone try connecting to the net as well and see if you get the same results.  It can also be the router too and if its their equipment I wouldn't be surprised.
You think it might be on there end

I have the same provider as you and never drop connection unless the router craps out or there is an outage. If you laptop and or other devices dont do it just your PC then it's not the router/modem. Now for the truly horrifying question.... How long has it been since you did a fresh install? Also have you tried uninstalling all the network drivers and then re-detecting them and reloading with fresh drivers? I know you said you were at the latest build but did you remove the devices and drivers and then reload them?

Did a fresh install about 2 months ago of win 7 and yes uninstalled all of the network drivers and the problem happened even before the fresh install
You know your main board may be giving up the ghost. I've seen Capacitors swell and lose efficiency with age and being an onboard NIC that could be part of the problem. How old is your board? Sorry for so many questions but its really hard to diagnose weird crap without having the system in front of ya ;)

i appreciate the time you are giving trying to help so ask away and im not sure how old exactly cause i got it used and have had it myself for over 5 years it is a Asrock 890gx pro3 mobo.

Is that a legit suggestion that will fix something or are you being sarcastic I mean it is you bull you would try to pull one over on me lol
I see on board NIC's fail on older boards on a regular and radios in wireless connections go out as well. Adding an inexpensive Intel based PCIe ethernet card is probably your best bet. Have you checked your modem status? Make, model?
