June 21, 20178 yr Here's what is probably the straw that breaks the camel's back for me gameplay wise. Fixed issue where player was able to fire weapon while being melee-killed. As per the dev response on the CTE forums as of this patch, because defending yourself is now called a kill trade, You cant shoot, counter, nothing if someone attacks you with a melee weapon. So in their infinite wisdom the ONE effing time a kill trade is actually a good possibility and one the melee attacker knows is a possibility and has accepted the risk they decide ok the one being killed cant shoot, use his own melee weapon nothing. Just get to sit there and die. As much as I like the game itself and I hate to say it, even though MANY of us told them this was stupid as hell and complete bullshit it is somehow in the game, Im pretty much done with BF1 maybe BF in general. Way to many other games out there now and incoming to be forced to deal with their bullshit and the people at DICE who THINK they know how to make BF better when in fact they have no clue. So as it stands now and for the foreseeable future DICE/EA titles are gonna be a wait and see prospect and unless a major rethinking of their priorities and retooling of servers and game mechanics happen at best their games will be ancillary side games at best for when I am bored with what I am playing at the time. Added setting for Unlimited Magazines. Who the flying F even asked for this? No one that's who. This is just another example of why I'm just done I haven't even loaded the last couple of BF1 patches just because I am bored to tears with it and now they start adding "features" that pretty much just give kills to people by disallowing the other player to defend themselves. I mean in theory I should load up and run nothing but the kukri knife or some other melee weapon and just run into groups of enemies while swinging wildly locking them all in melee locks while videoing it. Would be a great YouTube vid lol.
June 21, 20178 yr What does this have to do with the RSP program? ...LOL Anyway, I have not found a better FPS game ...none of the rest hold a candle to Battlefield 1 in both visuals and gameplay. All games have issues, but Battlefield 1 is the best multiplayer experience I have ever had gaming ...period! The game "Battlegrounds" is somewhat fun play, but it is lacking decent graphics and is a huge lagfest. Ghost Wildlands is a great open world game but only offers solo and coop modes. Still enjoyable to play though. So when you say there are a lot of games out there, well, yes there are, but how many of them are AAA games, and how many offer you stunning graphics with the ability to operate land, sea, and air vehicles? To each is own, though. We all get to chose what games we play, and I chose Battlefield 1 as my go-to game. I probably won't be getting Call of Duty WWII, but I will more than likely be getting Battlefront II. The graphics and gameplay look fantastic, and DICE has raised the bar yet again.
June 21, 20178 yr DICE has raised the bar yet again. How So? The bar is STILL at BF4 level! JUST SAYING
June 21, 20178 yr Author 2 things, there is the game side and there is the server side. Game side without a doubt is graphically the best and audio wise the best. Server side will it is lacking and clunky but it's getting better. Here is the thing, we have a server and for the most part, we can control it now. We can get rid of the toxic chat players and the cheaters now. At can have multiple admins. Let's play Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 using Tapatalk

I get what you are saying. The unlimited magazines bullshit is RSP side The other is just another stupid inclusion that was put in the game without ever being tested and when it appeared in the patch notes literally EVERYONE said it was dumba s hell. I may end up getting Battlefront, never say never, but it will be after I see how it shakes out. As far as BF1 goes I actually like the core game itself but the inclusions of things like Aim Assist in a PC title, The ever so awesome return of the revive bug, etc etc and now being locked into a death when someone attacks you with a melee weapon with no chance to do anything just chaps my ass. Graphically the game is great. Core game is pretty damned good as well. The stuff that really bothers me are things like scrapping all the work done on things in the BF4 CTE program and having the same issue in BF1 because they didn't build it to where the BF4 CTE had gotten it and went back to the base game mechanics. I get they changed engines and a lot of stuff needed to be recoded but at least code it to the point it has been tweaked to and not the starting point of the previous title that was broken. I know PUBGs has issues. You accept that when you play a early release game. I mean really, it's an extended open beta. I expect it to be unoptimised and have graphic issues especially when in in beta and a small indie group building it. They are making really good progress on it though. No its not a AAA title but when a company produces AAA titles it tend to hold them to a much higher standard and honestly in a good many areas DICE has not been up to par on those standards. I would say to your statement yes in some areas the bar has been raised but in a lot of areas the bar has hit them squarely in the mouth. It's all very subjective but there are things both back end and front end that just dont make sense and the fact that the feedback they need has been given for MONTHS and either ignored or pushed back to implement shit no one asked for or needed and this isn't the first thing that falls into this category either.
June 25, 20178 yr Great stuff, running all 15 maps. I've been looking for a server that combines the old and 1st dlc, and of course, no such thing is offered by the DICE official servers. So into the Customs I plunge. And there are only a handful of servers that combine old and new maps ... and they're empty. Or they're 200% bullet damage. I kept running across infos and hearing infos that you can't mix the old and new maps, that it's too much a pull on the server box. Then I rent a server for a week to find out if I can run a mixed rotation - YAH YOU CAN! - and I find out what I have to do with the settings to make it not a custom .... sad, very sad. So I think SCREW IT! - and put in the values that I want ... mixed maps - before Nivelle came out - and 125% bullet damage, FF on, KCam off .... yadda yadda - and 6 player to start. Well, my group doesn't number enough BF1 players - regular basis - to start that server. But when Nivelle came out, we found official servers running Nivelle by itself and mixed in with old maps rotation and new maps rotation. There's gotta be some one out there running all 15 maps. So 2 nights ago, I check my Favorites from my previous All Maps searches ... and there is The Armory - I check the rotation and yes!! 15 maps. Good Gawd a MIGHTY! The 4 of us get on and play 7 maps together with only 2 repeats, the last repeat we dropped off [Argonne] - so we play Soissons, Nivelle , Fort Devaux, Fao Fortress, Argonne, Nivelle, St. Quentin Scar, and then Argonne. Average time per map is 25 to 30 minutes, that's 2.5 hours plus we played, which is the longest we have played together on BF1 in a session. I hear you on the lack of proper full range of admin tools, I hate the way that DICE has been consolizing not only the game, but the admin tools - goodbye Procon. Map vote is nice - you gotta give some choice to the players, but while it's simple compared to the Procon plugins from past BF titles ... well, I wish for a bit more structure there. But hell, you got a full server 5 nights in a row, and I gotta believe you're getting a base. I'd hate to think that all of those other players are using PLAY NOW to get to your server, coz that surely won't get you the numbers you're seeing. Never underestimate the smarts of the public pc players KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
June 25, 20178 yr @sgtstufz Thanks for signing up to the website and thanks for playing with us. We also like to have a large (complete) map selection. I hope others will continue to find us, as we are a friendly group of gamers who enjoy playing Battlefield. Come join us on TS sometime when you get a chance. - Gatornade
