Teufel_Eldritch Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 The poll on the main page regarding whether or not spawn camping should be allowed or not does not have enuogh options. I would say that basecamping in DC is okay if & only if all other points have been capped. Attacks of a "guerilla" or "hit & run" nature are also okay. Of course air attacks are okay too. That's my 2 cents. Quote
Laughing Fat Man Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 One thing that annoys the heck out of me is when the side I am on has only one spawn point left, and I wait my 8-20 seconds to spawn, then get cut down BEFORE I even have a chance to see who's shooting at me, leaving me to wait ANOTHER 20 or so seconds to spawn so it can happen again. It doesn't matter if it's a plane/helicopter flying over for "hit and run tactics", a spawncamping sniper, or a moron that likes to pound the last spawnpoint with artillery (or battleship guns in the non DC maps) Some people might think this is whining, but those people cry like babies when it is done to them also. This is something we don't allow in Firearms, and makes for better enjoyment of the game. The problem is it's VERY hard to enforce this. It's a weakness of the BF 1942 engine and how the base game works. I like the DC mod. I think I will even like BF Vietnam, but I don't like how BF 1942 works as a multiplayer game. The only objective is to force one team back to the last point and then hang around that point killing people as they spawn and they have their backs to you. Quote
Macgyver Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 If the boundry sucks both teams life away. Why cant they make a circle around the non-capable bases that are team specific so you cannot enter without loosing health. It is an easy fix to solve this problem.Another frustrating feature is that if you have a slow loading system and are a new player to DC. After 5 minutes of waiting to get in and you finally do.What Fatty said.Cut down. Wait. Cut down. Wait.I really hope my suggestion gets put into a map for testing purposes. I am sure it will work.
