Halo Help.

Featured Replies

My brother just bought HALO, and he know nothing about computers, so I am forced to install it. Anyways, I get a DirectX error whenever I try to load the game up. It says exactly this:

A problem occured initializing Direct3D, Hardware Acceleration may be disabled. Please run DXDIAG

Thing is, hardware acceleration IS running. Everything is working fine for Direct3D as well. I tested it.

Someone help me out, please.

what version of DX you have? it MAY be that, but i thought that it would offer to install it for you!=/
i have trouble with semi older games like Unreal Tournament with DX 9.0b so that could be your problem
yeah, I tried the Halo for PC demo, but I got the same error. Since I couldn't find a way to fix it after a long search, I decided not to get Halo. :?
One of my friends says the PC Halo sucks and so do its graphics. It also has lags 8 times worse than DC. It gets like 25-30 fpsThe only thing I can say is try returning and telling them the game is "defective"
hell returning it and sayign "its halo" shuold be excuse enough...want my advice? buy an X box (BLASPHEMY AAGHHH MY EARS) and get it on that,
Uh, its actually a good game for PC, but really only for the multiplayer. New weapons, better driveable vehicles, and such. The graphics don't suck either. And I do have it for xbox, as does wsae. But if you read correctly, his brother bought it.
my PC currently is better than an Xbox.I have HaloPC and I 100% prefer it over the Xbox.As para said, new maps/weapons, graphics are just over the Xbox's, and you just can't beat the mouse and keyboard combo, Halo was made for mouse and keyboard
I got Halo too, and it does also run very bad on my computer. But the thing is that my computer is above average
I got Halo on PC too. I had a lot of problems of installing it. And on my pc 2.4 with Geforce 4 Ti 4600 it was not very fast, thats the reason in the end i have deinstalled it. The PC Version is not much better than the Xbox Verson, i think. On the Xbox i played a lot. But without cheats i had on some levels great problems. I hoped when i have the pc version i can play the whole game, but the problems were too big... Now i play the Halo Mod on BF1942 instead...
i have halo for both PC and Xbox. on the box its much much much better and is u have Xbox live its even better!!!
