It appears Microsoft and Google are teaming up to deploy a new and more secure authentication method using biometrics (fingerprints and face recognition) to gain access to websites. No more having to remember complicated passwords with this new technology called FIDO (Fast Identity Online) Alliance. They are releasing FIDO version 2.0 and plan to help websites configure their server to accept the new biometric authentication method. It would make life much more secure and easier to access PayPal and other services.
