February 7, 200422 yr I couldn't find a good section to put this in, so I'll put it hereI'm having trouble with Windows Media Player 9 series.Whenever I try to stream something or watch a file, I'll get the sound but no video. When streaming, I'll just see a black screen, but here all the voices and sounds normally. Whenever it's a file, it gives me one of those groovy "I'm so high I can see New York" music screens. And I can also normally hear the sounds and such. I think this started when I ported over to XP, that's probaly it.I've tried reinstalling WMP 9 over and over again, but still nothing.In the screen that shows what type of files it plays, called File Type, I have everything checked.So what's going on?
February 7, 200422 yr your missing special plugins i used to get the same thing all the time. Im sorry i cant help you cause i use winamp now and dont have those problems. or the divx player
February 8, 200422 yr what you need are some video codecs. More than likely the DivX codec, or maybe the XviD codec. Go to http://www.divx-digest.com/software/index2.html#codecs. DivX 5.x and the XviD build should be enough.
February 8, 200422 yr Download the latest version.Find the folder it installs in. delete it.Install it.I had the same problem and had to reinstall it. That simple.mac
