Something cool my friend showed me. Its a project that uses un-needed CPU power to work on processing data aquired from research into cancer, smallpox and other diseases. I usually leave it on at all times, and it'll shut itself off when you start to use more and more of your CPU. I have yet to experience a problem with it.

 

Its basically a massive, online supercomputer

There are plenty of programs such as this.SETI being the largest.Breaking down the Human DNA.There are others and Yes Cancer needs a lot of computer power and it is not a scam.
