This is kinda odd, but my CD Drive will not burn any "Memorex CD-R" CD's. But I get a "TDK CD-R" CD and it will burn the exact same thing I wanted on the original CD. I did not change any settings except switch the CDs.

    It also makes lots of wierd sounds as if it cannot get to the set speed, no matter what the speed :D

    check with your manufacturer? Maybe they know about the problem and have a firmware update for your drives bios!
