MrBojangles Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Well, i just recently got my computer up and running again (had been broken for awhile) and i noticed that i had battlefield installed. I clicked the BF icon, and it opened, no problem. I had to use a NO-CD crack because i lost my bf cd's...anyhoo here's the problem. When i try to join a DC server (v0.7) it says that i dont have the current version. When i try to update battlefield from v1.4 to 1.6 it says "could not find BF installer" and then it quits the installer. Does anyone know a way to fix this, or am i screwed? Quote
LORD_ORION Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Pretty sure you can't patch the game when the NOCD crack is installed.You'd need to do a full reinstall and apply the NOCD crack after installing all the DC stuff. Quote
MrBojangles Posted March 4, 2004 Author Posted March 4, 2004 because i lost my bf cd's... <------loser? Quote
DeadRoach Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 I think you're screwed bro. I can't think of any way to get around that without reinstalling the game.. Quote
DEFCON Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 yeah, unless you go to gamecopyworld.com and find some NO CD cracked patches. Its free and legal since you own the game but lost the Cd's so there is no guilt and i wont get banned for recommending it Quote
Col Hogan Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 yes, as said above, so you can play your own music cds :wink: , theses patches are often only good for specific game versions :wink: Quote
WSAENOTSOCK Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Also, doesn't it go from 1.4 --> 1.5 --> 1.6?? Quote
StateCop Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 I would highly suggest going into your registry and getting your key unless you still have it. As long as you have that I think you are covered. If you registered you may check with EA and see about replacement disk. I doubt they will send you one but it is worth a try if you have your box and/or sales receipt. I would save my key at all cost however. After you have got your key ask EA and see what they will do for you. Otherwise go to the store and get another copy.There are some ways around that as long as you have a legit key...but I am not so sure that would still be legal...you would be in gray area to say the very least. I would want to be damn sure I could prove I legally obtained the game before I downloaded a copy. If it were me I would be tearing the house apart looking for my CD Quote
MrJimmy Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 because i lost my bf cd's... <------loser?100% loser Quote
Pyroklown Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Ahem... I have even worse news for Bo...From what I have heard... there is no way for you to be able to play BF 1942 online without a CD. Apparently the NO CD cracks screw something up ( don't ask me what... this is prolly a question for StateCop or Mac) so that you always encounter the problem of not being able to recognize the current verion... even when u fully update THEN u install the crack...I tried it myself and it don't work...The only solution i see is making our economy grow by making a "small" contribution to your nearest game store in exchange for a round circular disk ( aka buy a new game)Pyro Quote
WSAENOTSOCK Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Pyroklown, Gator is currently running the DC server with a No-CD program *cough*pwned?*/cough*:mrgreen: Quote
MrBojangles Posted March 23, 2004 Author Posted March 23, 2004 roffles. you can lock this topic now, i gave up. Quote
MrBojangles Posted March 25, 2004 Author Posted March 25, 2004 thats bc u don't know anything bout comps <---built his computer. Quote
Hayabusa Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 You may have built your own comp Bojangles, but hardware and software experience are two very different things... 8) It always help to go out and buy good games, that way, the companies have money to make more good games. It's a win-win situation. This doesn't apply to the record industry. They already rob us through their high-priced CDs. The thieves. CDs are cheaper to make than magnetic tapes, but they cost more. Go figure. :roll: Quote
