Seems even with latest updates to steam, fa, armory, cd, etc ... some still manage to ping players' ips and casue lock-ups ... the security hardware/software blocked the attack with traceable address .

Seems since someone always finds player ips which should not be available to public, play on server unsafe ... WHICH ADDRESSES MAJOR CONCERN OF GAME SERVER SHOWING PLAYER STATS AND IP ADDRESSES ... THIS SHOULD NOT BE SHOWN...use high speed dsl which creates diiferent ip each time you use it ... unlike cable which is always same ip ... My security hardware and software often blocks stuff late night that came while playing at "The Armory" ... not that it's them ... attacking ip is not theirs ... but could be traced with enough similar occurances ...Sad becasue this leads to less chance of free game servers for all ... in which only paying customers can play and complain ...no laughing matter ...[TBT]-Srg Shultz.

Once again [TBT] Srg_Shultz was up drinking late and playing late then when the computer locked up it was the last straw so he started his ranting . . . just to let you all know when it's been late at night and when [TBT] Srg_Shultz been drinking his rum and root beer his starts to do the thinking thing that he does and goes a little too far . . . so whenever you see something form him posted late at night say from 4-6:30am don't really worry about it but just humour him . . . this is just the way he gets when he drinks more than a mikey's worth of rum. :wink: ThX,[TBT] Gen_TigerHawk :twisted:

Shultz I dont think people pinging your system locked you up. Unless you are not on a router then someone could be trying to get in your system. I would suggest a good router like a linksys.BTW certain admin tools display IPs and it could be those programs automatically getting your IP and not person doing a tracert to you. If you are concerned about these things as I am many are I suggest a good site on that we have a link to called practically networked and broadband reports. On BBR they have a good security forum that I hand out in from time to time.

When you said Cable IPs don't change, only static IP's don't change, most Cable ISP's use Dynamic.. Which changes from time to time

Thanks. I chose my player name after the character in old "Hogan's Heros" commedy series in ww2 German prison camp of GI's. A funny show. Made me laugh as does this game sometimes. Shultz often said "I know nothink, see nothink, hear nothink !!"
