March 26, 200421 yr sorry to hear that. but i don't think we should help you get in more troulbe by going against your dad's orders, soldier
March 26, 200421 yr is it at all possible that perhaps you deserve the grounding and shouldnt be trying to find a way around your punishment?
March 26, 200421 yr I'm a grown man of 37 and was grounded by the wife to stop me going out drinking.....thats when I discovered Firearms ,now she's sorry, going out to the pub doesn't have the same appeal anymore so I'm all for grounding and compulsory punishment of several hours fa each evening. It has kept me out of the bars as well...save a bunch of money that way, and it is better for your health. Nice to see some of the younger players playing on the Armory server. I am only 47 myself.
March 26, 200421 yr Sorry to hear that you are grounded. It must be boring not being able to play . . . but what is it that you did to get your dad all mad with you? If you don't mind me asking?
March 26, 200421 yr I like to play FA too . . . I never played it before until [TBT] Srg Shultz told me all about it and how much fun it is too play. One day I gave it a "SHOT" it was hard at first but I got the hang of it very quickly . . . You could even say the student (me) has now become the teacher . . . I just can't get enough of this wonderful stuff .
March 26, 200421 yr My parents have never grounded methey call it banned. They mostly ban me from the computer, because they know it's what I feed on :E
March 27, 200421 yr Author nope dad thinks my B average isnt good enough...jeez im a C student and hes like GET A'S OR ILL RIP YOUR COLON OUT THROUGH YOUR THROAT AND CASTRATE YOU....and i tried booting from the harddrive but i dunno how...tell me!
March 28, 200421 yr although you are either exaggerating or your dad is not handling the situation well, I dont think it is a good thing to simply label yourself a "C student". Aspire to be more, instead of merely average. I recommend talking to the teachers for input on hwo you could improve. Believe it or not, teachers actually do pay attention to each individual student's habits. As a senior in high school, I think I speak with 12 years of wisdom behind me, but than again I can be quite lazy at times, and as far as I know, you could be a 12th grader too.Bottom Line:If you say you are a C student now, you will always be stuck in that average bracket in the rest of lifes activities unless you aspire to say, "Screw mediocre, Im going for the gusto!" I think your dad sees this, but if he is acting like you say he is, he might not be approaching this thing right. I do agree with his grounding though, I discovered my grades went up when I was grounded, maybe yours will too.
April 29, 200421 yr Author Flak...congradulations...you have practically saved my life...seriously...that has to be the most inspiring thing i have ever seen..from a stranger nontheless...but this clan is like a family to me...so i am forever in your debt...thank you
April 29, 200421 yr Yeah, I missed Flak's post. So I'll follow up on yer superior necro abilites, Freak! Everything Flak said has good ground, especially about asking the teachers, and that's what I'm replying to. I've never been a teacher, but it's something I'd like to do. (Note to self: Check the papers...) I've only been an instructor for SAT prep courses, as well as done high school tutoring from a college program. But 99% of the teachers out there are teaching because they want to help students. Think of it this way: would you really wanna put up with all the crap from students without a good reason? You know what you and your friends are capable of. I know what my friends and I were capeable of A megear sallary of 25-35k a year isn't worth it, unless they really wanna help. Don't be afraid to ask a teacher for insight. That's what they're there for
April 29, 200421 yr Ok so when i boot up everything goes fine but it asks me to insert a boot disk. Freak Either one of 2 things... He has either wiped the Hard Drive OR You have a floopy in the disk drive already
April 29, 200421 yr I'm not sure if Freak is being sarcastic at Flak or not. LOLYou'll get thru it Freak, just hang in there. Work harder, get those grades. Shoot, having higher grades ain't gonna hurt you none, so why not work for them?
