I have a question . . . as you may already know shultz and I live together for over a year . . . He owns a blazer that I get to use to get the groceries go to work see him on his break at work and pick him up after work etc . . . what I'm getting at is this he owns the blazer but I get to use it now back in Feb. this year I was on my way to see him on his break and then I got in an accident I was hit in the back rear tire was broken off . . . so when he showed up instead of asking me if I was ok all he cared about was the truck! Like it was more important then me . . . what if I was seriously hurt would he have cared then? Who knows? Now my next question is . . . Even though I was driving and got hit I think it's fair that I have to pay only half of the repair because it's not my blazer he owns it and lets me drive it to see him on break and pick him up after work . . . oh and he took off the collision coverage which I said he should have it on for the winter time but I guess he never did. Anyways I have talk to people I know and Trust to get what they think and they said since it's not mine I should only have to pay half now If we both owned the blazer then yes I would pay for the whole repair but I don't I was just driving it going ot see him on his break and If I didn't have to always see him I bet the accident wouldn't have hapened. So my question to you all is should I have to pay for all of the repair or only half? Cause it's not my truck. Tell me what you think. Other PM me or say it here.

Well this is not an easy thing, and becouse i dont know the canadian law and inshurence or something like that. First of all if you got hit, and it was not your foult, the insurence should have payed everything (it dous here) but if i am not mistake he took it of(here is is illegal to drive without insurence). It is not your car so technicly you are not responsible so you shouldn't have payed anything. But becouse you live together so share a house together and other expences => you could say that you should share the cost on the car. Or what sometimes happens look at the pay from the jobs and calculate a how much everyone has to pay. And if you both owned the truck you should have payed fore it together, not more than normal, shared ownership means shared responcibility. Hard situation, but i think that he should pay at least a part of the cost. If it is a good relationship he should do that without a lot of trouble.

the root of all evil is unequality and stupidness. If people are smart they know how to handle money, if everybody has what he needs there is no problem... But this only works in theory becouse there will always be people who want the things the others have

I want to know If I'm being screwed out of my money on the accident repair pay. :evil: Oh and now he thinks I don't want to work which is complete BS! See the thing is with the job I have right now is Casual fulltime ok, meaning some weeks I'll be working and other weeks I won't be . . . as of last wed I didn't have to work and now it's been over a week but In the mean time I have been trying to find other work but having no luck because Thunder Bay is a terrible city to find work in . . . cause they always hire people with expericence now here's the catch 22 how can you get expericence if you can't get the job to get the expericence you need to have the job. DUH! :roll: :evil: See this is were the money issue comes . . . shultz only wants me to work so I make money to give to him . . . this is the impression i'm getting from him. I have this impression because most of his pay check goes to his ex wife for child sport and then his rum and smokes etc. But I don't get any of his money so why do i have to give him all of mine? just because his last GF did he thinks I'm going to be the same way umm NO WAY! I'm not stupid or easy to manipulate. SO I want to know what you all think of this?

What gamers need are partners who also play games. That makes life much easier.Uhh, and TigerHawk, I know living with someone complicates the issue, but if he took collision off and the accident wasn't your fault, I don't see why you should really have to pay anything. Unless your real motive for paying is to smooth things over, in which case pay whatever you feel is right.

mmm, seems like your in a difficult situation... First of all you have a job, that is good, and i know the problem, they always want somebody with exp. Now here comes the trick, go and meat them anyway, they will probably admire the fact that you are taking action and are not afraid of doing things. And even thought they are not asking fore people give them a call and ask if they have a job fore you(now i dont know what kind of degree you have, it has more chance to succeed if you have a good degree). What helps in a situation like living together:Make a list of the thing you pay and the things he pays and that you use both. and draw your conclusions. As i look at ityou both put a percentage of the pay in. that money is used fore food and other expences that are importent fore both, like food and rent. If you want to buy something fore you, u use your own cash. This way you can put on savings fore things like this. Now to answer you question: I aksed around, it is the person who couses the accident who has to pay, if the accident is not your fault the person who coused the accident has to pay. I would say if it is you foult you share it it would be not more than fair if u both payed fore it, accidents happen...if that means less rum and less smokes so be it. That way he shows that he cares.(now i dont want to get your relationship into trouble i am just annalysing the info that i get). But still not an easy problem...(calculate the cost of smokes over a year, you can take a nice holliday with that money)

Yes well here is how stupid Ontario laws are . . . I was at a light waiting to turn left . . . the light turned yellow and then went red so I was getting out of the intersection as I was turning left out of the intersection some gut in a van came racing though the RED light and hit me . . . . this is where the how stupid Ontario laws are and I quote" no matter what the situation is if you are turning left it is always your fault" Now how stupid is that! So even thought the light was RED and he went through a RED light just because I was turning left it's my fault. And the thing is he was about 10 cars away from the intersection so I guess when the light went red he gunned it, and hit me cause he was late for a meeting . . . a meeting at 7:30pm?

there is insurance but he took off the collision insurance . . . and I don't own the truck or the apt everything is in his name not mine but I help him the best that I can I just don't think it's fair I should pay for the whole repair and it's not my fault his ex wants everything from him including his pension and the fact he has so many debts why do I have to suffer it's not my fault he had a bad life before he met me. Why do I have to pay for HIS MISTAKES!

It was a good relationship until the accident now i'm not so sure any more cause I think on his list of whats important to him I'm at the very bottom. That how I feel. He has a great women who would do anything for him and make him happy in everyway possible but yet still not good enough for him. I just don't know. He's says happy I work but I think he's happy I work because I can give him my money.

Bah i've divised a simple equation when it comes to women:

Women = Time X Money

Time IS money

Hence Women = (Money)^2

Money is the root of all EVIL

Hence Women = Root(All Evil)^2

Therefore Women = All Evil

God i'm lonely.... D:

Thinking about it, you should really fight it in court. Laws should not be like that, and somebody needs to step up.Keep fighting, never give up, get your money.

Now that is one STUPID law, he made the first foult, as far as i know it is illegal to drive trough a red light and by that action he coused an accident. If he didn't do that the accident never happend se he is the reason why te accident happend and becouse of this any logical conclusion would be that he is responcible. Any decent judge would overrule this law and tell the dude it was his mistake. I can immagine the situation, we have an intersection like that just around the block. Lucky fore me my mom and dad who are divorced dont have that much trouble. They still get along. It could be that becouse of the bad exp with women he thinks that all women are like this and wants to take revenge by living of his partners cash. But this is just a theory. ANd you are correct you should't pay fore it allone, that is the biggest BS i have ever heard, if he really cares he wouldn't do that to you. I mean if he had an accident you would pay a part of it wont you? That is what i would do. I think it is time to put things and a row and think about where you are now, what you want in life and if this is that way to get there.

It's not my motive to pay sure I would like to pay for half since I was driving but he has put a threat over my head if I don't pay all of it which is $1700 he'll throw me out on the streets and sue me. Now it's bad enough I have a ticket to pay for and he wont help me with that.
