they announced 2.9 was done 4 days ago, and yet it still isnt out. I think they need to define exactly what they mean by done. Does it really take 4 days to build and installer and distribute to mirrors?
I'm sure you saw in the original post, that Valve is doing the installers and not the FA team. They have given Valve all the stuff to make the installers and put it into Steam. And we all know that Valve likes to take its time. So just be patient..[DIAL]Doc
Alot of companies don't like to work on the weekends, but then again Valve also don't like working on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays....

oh I must have missed that part, ok, well in that case I guess we will see 2.9 about the same time as HL2 and TF2. Wasnt that date prophesized in Revelation somewhere?

you seem to be in a perpetual bad mood kami. It was just a little bit of sarcastic humor, the FA team has yet to let me down.
installers have to be tested

mirrors have to be prepared

things need to be in order

zip it

I agree with Kami

you people seem to want everything now now now...

the people at Valve and the FA team have lives

be patient...

ok, i prolly should have posted this sooner: I wrote this thread when I was in a bad mood and was hoping 2.9 would make things all better. It wasnt out so I took out my anger on 2.9, simple displacement. As i said, the FA team has never failed me, and Valve was awesome too, at least for a while.
the steam installers are going to take a lot longer than the normal installer that is usually usedinstallers take time, people developing games have livesso that's why I tend to get in a foul mood when I hear whines about "IS it done yet? IS IT, IT?!!!!"omg like the FA Team suxorz for not releasing it nowpffftwhile you wait, try this amazing thing called real life
while you wait, try this amazing thing called real life

I had one, but I traded it for a 6-pack and a large pizza. I made out like a bandit! :)

I did the same, but I got a case and a nice comforting b..........................ig thing of chicken

one other thing

we'll play a game of pretend

let's say the installers are done, the testers(me and those other guys) have their hands on them. a glitch comes up, a glitch we had no idea about, no clue it existed, and it makes the game unplayable. things like these are what cause delays, and things like these are why it's never usually announced something is ready for release until after the installers themselves are thoroughly tested as well as the game

please not how I have apologized for posting this thread in a bad mood. I understand the time it takes to test etc.
