May 25, 200421 yr Here is a post in the FA forums. COuld someone please test this on Armory Server IV and let me know...I take care of the 3 servers in Aus and ive been lucky enough to be there when it has crashed a few times , both times exactly when i was treated for a concussion.Im going to test it out nowEdit: tested it three times to be sure , all three times the server crashed , specific to treating concussions.Btw linux/dedicated
May 25, 200421 yr Hi Gator,I treated god-cow for concussion yesterday on Armory1 server without it crashing. Or at least right away. This might be only in the Linux version of the server. But if I get to it I'll test it tonight (Assuming that Armory4 is still 2.9)Hope they can fix the problem soon,[DIAL]Doc
May 25, 200421 yr Man You know what.I crashed the server a couple of times. I usually have medic at some point and Iwo Usually has flashbangs. I know it happened.
May 27, 200421 yr Ripper posted a topic to edit a couple of files. i did this and it improved my game severly.the lag seemed to totally disappear, except for the very rare lag spike(VERY RARE)I bet these files are conflicting with the way the server runs in general, i would definitly suggest for everyone to edit them and watch the lag go bye bye the files are :fa29 and hllog.....erase everything in these files and mark them as read only. i bet if you do this to the server files it will help alot also.
May 27, 200421 yr c:\ drivealso you will have to have run FA2.9 with the updated dll at least once to get the fa29.txt and fa29.log file[DIAL]Doc
May 27, 200421 yr I just renamed mine. there's a c:\fa29.txt, fa29.log, hllog.txt. They were about 2500 kbs. After playing in empty server, menus fine, disconnecting/closing fa/steam, th files were back, recreated by fa or steam, but with only few kb size.
May 28, 200421 yr Who can confirm affirmatively removing these files made for less saggy play with many players ?
May 28, 200421 yr no, you don't remove them. You open them, delete everything inside them. Save. Then put it as read-only. You should end up with those three files having 0 kb of information in them. Oh yeah. It worked for me. 8)
