*** Scrim organizing ***

Featured Replies

Ever read the newspaper? Normally, you can find most of the key info in the first paragraph of the story. In the first paragraph you will find who, what, when, where, how, and why. That's 5 W's and an H. After that is the details or filler of the story. Then the end of the story / closing. I found a lack of info and some confusion about the organizing of scrims. Here are some things need answered before any scrims: * Who we are scrimaging with? * Who are the primary, secondary, and standby participants from our clan? * What weapons are those participants using? * Is it a scrimage, match, a friendly game, or something else? * Date of the scrimage? * Time of the scrimage? * Which server will it be on and what is the password? * Which maps will be played? * What plan of attack and defense do we have for the maps? * Is there a reason we are having the scrim - "grudge match", etc. * The chain of command of who is playing needs to be established prior to the scrim. These need to be answered before the scrim. In an organized, calculated way. Not 5 minutes before in a frenzy. Preferably it should be clearly known all the details above 48 - 72 hours before the event. Both clans should post in the other clans forums about the specifics of the clan (when, where, how many on each team, which maps, etc) along with a reply/acknowlegement of the other clans posting about the scrim. Here's a recap of what we need to improve: * Chain of command and communication * Scrim details * Scrim training * Weapons tryouts and training*****I hope this helps improve the scrim organization for both of our clans :(
no kidding. I liked it how my friend has his CS clan set up for matches. Top 10 guys with 10 alternates who are ready to hop in during the match.
* Who we are scrimmaging with? Set by your clans Hierarchy* Who are the primary, secondary, and standby participants from our clan? set by your clans Hierarchy or first come first serve* What weapons are those participants using? most follow a leagues restrictions* Is it a scrimmage, match, a friendly game, or something else? set by your clans Hierarchy* Date of the scrimmage? mutual agreement between your clans hierarchy and the opposing teams hierarchy* Time of the scrimmage? mutual agreement between your clans hierarchy and the opposing teams hierarchy* Which server will it be on and what is the password? mutual agreement between your clans hierarchy and the opposing teams hierarchy* Which maps will be played? mutual agreement between your clans hierarchy and the opposing teams hierarchy* What plan of attack and defense do we have for the maps? Set by your clans Hierarchy* Is there a reason we are having the scrimm - "grudge match", etc. most are just for fun * The chain of command of who is playing needs to be established prior to the scrim. not always check with your clans hierarchy and you will find all members do not always show up or it's first come first serveI hope this helps your clan! and i hope this helps your understanding of scrimmages and matches :(
tac are after me the most organized and advanced clans in FA . They are ready to roll and are really organized. I dont know bout u but i think soo. Well hope that paladin's answer will help your clan.
Might wanna wipe off your nose mano, you werent at the scrim last night. TAC was 90 minutes late, and none of them had a clue that there was a scrim. Dunno bout you but that isnt very organized =/

They don't use IRC. Therefore its not possible to get a scrim/pug going in 5 minutes like we do with EF/CIA/dT/LoT/LoS. And yes, I've been their vent server, and no one is ever on it.
Ummm but with the release of 2.9 and all the problems it has. You would think that maybe there might not be a match or should not be a match. Ever consider that some people were so busy working with, Gator and others (Mazor), that he forgot about the match. Me Macgyver Match scheduler. Before you come in and propose that we need to do things different I suggest you think about what transpires during any given roll out of a new game patch release.BOTTOM line is you need to add one thing to your list.WHEN PLAYING ON SOMEONE ELSES SERVER. CONTACT THEM TO MAKE SURE THE MATCH IS STILL ON A DAY OR TWO IN ADVANCE JUST TO BE SURE IS A GOOD THING TO DO.And please do not tell us how to run our clan. We would not go to your forums and propose what you just did.Sorry but trueGator and I spent HOURS and HOURS finding BUG after BUG with the new patch. Got hold of Mazor and then we tested and tested to make sure that we got most of them corrected. You would not be playing 2.9 as you know it today and knew it on Thursday if it was not for that effort. AND YES THE NEW .DLL's WERE ON THAT SERVER AS WELL.So please go "Propose" somewhere else and be happy that 2.9 is at least playable. :(

I did not mean any disrespect. I was only trying to help the process. Also, we do plan on posting and emailing a day or two before future scrims. We will no longer depend on one individual to tell the rest of the clan of a scrim or reply that the scrim is on or not.

Man, you two guys are so cool. 8) :(
Ok..mac I think you missed my point if your post was directed at me...1.) Don't take scrims so seriously, get your guys on IRC, register a chan, if theres 6-7 TAC people on at one time, and have nothing to do, GET A SCRIM FOR FUN! Ask anyone in LoT LoS dT EF CIA HK etc etc etc, WE ALL HAVE SERVERS TO USE OTHER THAN YOURS.2.) Don't worry about getting a "scheduler" to get a scrim going, it's a scrim, who cares, they're spontaneous. If it's a FAL match, then by all means, have them organized down to the dotted "i", they actually matter etc.3.) I understand all your efforts in making this game we call "FA" (aka "Life" for some of us) work, but please do not blow an artery over a post in your forums.
IRC is for people with too much time on their hands. I don't have time to hang around in a channel for 30 minutes talking. EVER. I'm always on the go.
....open irc, connect to gamesurge, minimize irc, play game, quit game, open irc, see who's alive. Rinse, lather and repeat.
NopeNever again.IRC that is.Did that and only got bashed for being in TA and being Macgyver.Anyhow. I was not really mad just posting what was happening. It was not fun to read a post like that after what went on this week.Mac

People r on vent, but usualy beetween 4:00pm-1:00am as we have lifesand school/jobs that we work, but we r on there.

Uhm that is totally not true. There is usually 5-15 people on Ventrillo after 5PM-EST. Before that its usually only me and shotty :(

Also ventrillo is 100000+ better than irc. Becuase u can use ur mic and u always can hear if someone replies.

As for the match i think mac is right. I know personally that Gator Mac and Mazor where on Ventrillo hours and hours that day because their servers where crashing every 15 minutes.
