Why do i feel i get a lot of ad homine arguments?? Anyway we may not forget that the school system in europe is very different than in the US. Although according to a UN survay Belgium has one of the Best school systems in the world, it is also one of the hardest. We can't choose our classes the way u guys can. We can only choose a packet and Sports is limited to 2 hours a week. I had 4 hours of dutch and french and economy, 3 English, 2 history, math, media, geography, sports, psychology, science, moral/relgion, and 1 sociology. That is 32 hours a week. With homework every day. And at the highest level in Belgian school system, what is supposed to be very high. And than i need to define my *suck* when i say i suck at languages i mean i suck at writing the words(but than again, dutch is one of the languages with the hardest grammatical rules in the world) i am en expert in writing essays. So suck is a bit big. Maybe i would redefine to -> i am not super good, but i dont fail at it. But it shure restricts your options later in university. The first year more than 50% fails, the second year it is around 40%. My talents lie more in the fact that i can talk people into doing things. I can get them on my hands, hanging from my lips, ect. But than again, maybe you are not so open minded to see that intelligence is more than math, science and languages. You have verbal intelligence, emotional intelligence, Musical intelligence,... so you can be smart in different ways. If you have a brilliant general, it dousn't mean he is good at math or science.

What is emotional intelligence? Verbal intelligence? Musical intelligence? Those things aren't real. You're just making them up so you can try to convince yourself, and others that because someone isn't good at the three most important things in the educational system, that in fact he is still smart. Well guess what, it doesn't work like that.I'm the best guitar player in the world. But I don't know my multiplication table or anything past basic division, or how to write properly, yet, I'm still intelligent because I'm musically skilled? No.I don't even know what to make of emotional intelligence, that's the lamest thing I've heard in the past several weeks.Verbal intelligence doesn't make sense either, I don't know where you pulled that one from. If you have no trouble getting people to listen to you intently that just means you are a very good speaker. It doesn't mean you're very intelligent.
I just wanted to say these few things before I go to bed (have to wake up at 5am to go work at 6am to 1pm) :Humankind has made improvements since Middle Age : less people are ignorant, religions don't hold science and justice as they did, etc. But we have a long long road before us... You can't judge ou society just by taking the present, but also by taking in mind the past. You can't judge someone on his "school's skills" like sciences, languages, IQ... Some people are really good at science, some others are more manual (like claymores muahahahahahaha :D sorry couldn't resist this poor joke)... some others people are skilled in art...How can you judge someone ? IQ test just tell you've got the same form on intellect than the creators of the test... We are all different by our genes, by our body, by our mind... You can't put all the people into the same school : that's why education we have in many countries is poor. The system is made this way, we have to deal with it for now... and perhaps after we will create a better one.All societies have good and bad sides : communism has been soiled by dictators, capitalism creates social inegalities, monarchy is a kind of dictature etc. But every system gives us something good. Today, we learn to write, to read, maths, science, history, arts etc. We learn the past to preare the futur. You can tell your opinions, you have the freedom of speach, freedom of think, freedom of faith. And you have more security than in Middel Age. But we have troubles like social inegalities, rascism and so on... The system is build by the men so it has defaults. The other fact is the things you learn are not bad neither good. They are, that's all. You decide to use your knowlegdes and skills to do what you want. Do a sword is a weapon ? A soldeir will say yes, a Knight will say no. The soldier goes to war, the Kinght protect and defend. The Knight's sword is a tool, not a weapon. That's the same with science. Without science we wouldn't have everything we have to make survival easier. It's a poor fact some people used and use science to create weapons...It's why we need a morality. In the past, the religions had to give you a morality, but now it's the "job" of the philosophes... Art and Philosophia exist to give us some values, some ideas to make us Humans and not just men. With your morality, with your ethic, you decide what you do. You decide what you create. We can, we have to create another system that will be better than all the previous, but it still will have defaults. Untill nearly all men will be Humans...To conclude and to answer to this thread... you have to find out what are your skills. School may not be the better way to find them. Just think about what you like to do, what you would like to do as your job. This will direct you into the right way (studies, manual jobs etc.). Try to think to your goal - it will help you to go on.hum... I believe I told of many things in this thread... I hope you'll understand what i wanted to say.
in·tel·li·gence (n-tl-jns)n. The capacity to acquire and apply knowledge, especially toward a purposeful goal. An individual's relative standing on two quantitative indices, namely measured intelligence, as expressed by an intelligence quotient, and effectiveness of adaptive behavior. There is no such thing as emotional, verbal, or musical intelligence.Anyone can be goot at math or language or most anything if they try hard enough, but a lot of people think that since they don't understand it within 10 minutes that they will never understant it.
sterling...my lord you are so ignorant its hilarious...sence you are to close minded to define any of those things...ill define them for youif you are the best guitar player in the world...that means you are smart musically...youd have to figure it out somehow...im musically intelligent...i can read music fluently and i play keyboards, percussion, and trombone...music also has to do with math (division and multiplication)verbally intelligent - being able to put anything and everything into words fluently...big vocabulary(english)...maybe being multilingualemotionally intelligent - being able to empathize with others, psychology (science)oh my...what have i just done...i think i just owned sterlingwait i dont think i KNOW
It's easy to ignore other people's views by claiming they are incorrect based on ignorance. In life you will find that not everybody agrees with your opinion, I suggest you get used to it.This "verbal" intelligence you speak of is actually what you would learn in a language class. By the way, using big words doesn't make someone intelligent.Being able to read guitar chords doesn't make you intelligent.Psychology is something that would be learned at school, so yes, if you are very good at that course then you would be intelligent (but only if it was a University course, high school stuff doesn't count).Being able to empathize with people doesn't make you smart, either. I am able to talk openly with other people, it has nothing to do with intelligence. Also, please stop saying I'm getting "owned", or "burned", that's stupid. Grow up.
grow up? ive had enough of your ignorance....your selfish close mindedness will get you NOWHERE in life son...and besides i was right...you just dont want to admit your wrong
Selfish? Now you're just throwing words around that don't make sense in the context you used it in.You haven't given a solid point to back up why you are "right", until you can do that your opinion is wrong.I've proved my opinions and have nothing more to add unless you can think of a solid counter-point.
Ignorence, Geeze. I don't understand what he's ignorent about. It seems to me Freak, that he is ignorent of things that don't exist, or perhaps, do exist, but have LITTLE or NO purpose/Meaning. Seeing as Sterling has presented a great arguement. He so far, is leading in logical thinking, and purposeful ideas.
sterling...you havent proven anything...decepticon has already beaten you....and so have i...sam your just a base camping noob so there
