The revolution has begun!

Well, the leap into the next generation of computers has finnaly come together. Many of you have been hearing about PCI-E for a long time. That right there was a major leap, but now that and much more is comming together really fast.

PCI-E

PCI-E is bringing more possablities to any type of expantion hardware, but mainly video cards and sounds cards. The increase right now is up to 500Mbs, but will continue to increase by just adding a multiplyers. Or the PCI-E 4x which is what the recent PCI-E video cards are using.

Socket 775 (Socket T)

Intel has decided to start the next level of processors, pinless processors. Now right now the pins are on the motherboards, and have beside a much lower voltage really show no preformance leap. It also only adds a great new mounting for CPU fans. Overall a lower voltage will give some head room for faster processors, etc.

DDR2

Now the last but now least, DDR2. It currently runs at 533mhz, and clocks at 4-4-4-10, but that means nothing becuase it is still faster than DDR.

Now, the revolution has begun. Motherboard are coming out everywhere with these features. They are the beginning of a new age in computers, which on avrage only last 2-3 months, but still we are going to see great improvments in the next year. This is truly an exciting time!

There is nothing more delightful than to spoil the other people joy. Mwuhahahaha!

Look at this, if it sounds too long and complicated, just jump to final words:

Also this, check out AGP vs PCIe tests:

And now think for a moment, how much money they are planning to skin from you....

Remark: this is all about Intel, we have not heard of other developers jet. And development is constantly underway, of course.

Well, you have to remember that AGP sucks so bad, that game developers code their games to do everything in their power to prevent the vid cards from accessing the system memory.New games will do far better on PCI-E.Heh, and ATI is being silly, you will not be able to find an X600 mainstream card on AGP from them, only PCI-E.

PhilCarson, spoil what? This stuff is awsome, not that I would buy it now. First, the only reason I would buy it is to say that I had the first consumer availbe motherboard that includes: Socket 775, PCI-E, and DDR2 on the same board. True, right now is isn't any better that what we have, but this stuff can be made much faster than what it is. True, PCI-E is only 500mhz, and AGP is MAXED at 2.4ghz.But, DDR2 is up at 8.4ghz bandwith, DDR doesn't get near that speed. And also audio quality being at 192kbs for HD audio is good too.O ya, Intel, they have always controlled everything. Intel were the ones who made PCi in the first place. They then just licenced it to other companies. Intel is a company that does something and others follow. This is only the beginning too. I would NEVER go buy this stuff now, but it will get MUCH better.

O ya, the processor isn't any different that what we have now. It only has the pins on the motherboard instead.
Actually I completely agree with you, Lurker  This stuff CAN be revolutionary but it must PROVE this before I will spend my hard earned bucks to it.

heres info on the new socket

http://www.overclockers.com/articles1049/

it basically says that the socket is more fragile than before and you can only insert a cpu up to 20 times.

id like to see benchies of 8.2 (im asuming you mean GB/s) for DDR2 most so far have been between 4-5

and infact intel does not control everything

amd first came out with 64bit (apple doesnt coutnt)

and intel's net 90nm cpus are worse than previus ones

looks like intel hit a wall
