"get a life" is a classic internet insult.Well I finally got around to seeing that video. I'm just wondering what the point of it was. What really confused me was that after the 9/11 segment it went to showing war footage from Iraq. It made it look like America got attacked then went to war on Iraq, when in reality they went into Afghanistan and then they went to Iraq. Iraq and 9/11 aren't even connected, so I don't understand why they are in the same video. It would have made more sense to show footage of terrorists being rounded up and other war footage from Afghanistan. I also liked how at the 3:35 mark the text on the screen said "cities left in ruin", I'd hardly call two buildings being knocked down and a small part of the Pentagon being destroyed "cities left in ruin". I rate it 1/5

Ky and Das are right , if you post a video then you must take the so called "flames". and yes its a recruitment video, 9/11 was a VERY tradical event, but now it is used as a recruitment tool. because first part is good, pretty patriotic for a american, but the second one.... it just made for the people that doesent know so much about politics.. After that video they will think that it was a Iraq that did that and then they will sign up for the army.. And they will get a idea what its very safe..

try as might I couldnt help it, I started crying during the first part.

 

The Second part wasnt quite as good though, lots of bombing range test videos, older footage, and I didnt like the nuclear weapon tests (no one deserves to be nuked.... yet).

My best friends mother runs a day-care center. She babysits 3-4 year olds, and one 5 year old i believe. Whenever i hear them fight, all i hear is "No YOU <whatever they were arguing about>". We aren't crying, we aren't whining. We're discussing various things about how patriotic the movie was attempting to be, and how much it failed horribly. It's a propaganda film. Pure and simple. And why should we just "drop it" when you're the one sitting here, telling us "how much of a life we don't have", because we're posting about a movie that you started posting, and that you had to go out and find, and post here. I think in general it's implying a connection between 9/11 and US troops dying, which at this point subconsciously means Iraq. Given that its subtitle is "America 2004" and the bulk of the footage is from the 2001 attacks on the US and the 2002 campaign in Afghanistan, I can only assume that the producer is misleading you. Also during the Afghanistan conflict most of the US and the world for that matter was behind the US military, the "for the troops" rhetoric didn't start appearing until the Iraq conflict was on the horizon. Of course, the "God Bless America" that appears in the beginning is not only an indicator of this individuals political stance, it also let's us know that they cant think for themselves. The piece also has little to no direction, it's just a collage of 9/11 footage followed by random bit's of military hardware in no particular sequence put to bad music. Given that the authors father is a spook working for the NSA in Washington, we can also assume that he was been conditioned to be gun-ho about his daddy's bosses ideals.

 

In closing I give it a C- on edits, the sound syncing to cuts were ok, But it gets a D- for content and an F for storyboarding. If he's serious about becoming propaganda producer for the Bush ideal, maybe a piece featuring Jesus coming back to kill all the Jews and non-believers is in order, after all that's what Bush's faith prays for.

For one who tries to analyze so thoroughly, he sure doesn't do all his homework. Before he tries to sound so knowledgeable about Christianity, he should find out what it's really about and what it really teaches. Then again, since it is Christianity (the only religion where it's ok to denounce it and make false claims about) I guess it's alright for someone who knows virtually nothing about it to automatically be right whenever he makes a negative comment about it.
