July 13, 200421 yr "WSup.exe""WToolsA.exe""WToolsS.exe" (this one is a system process. Very odd.)Whenever I try and end these processes, my screen freezes for a bit, then starts up, along with the programs.Plus, it says I have a 19 000 KB I.E. open, when in reality, I don't even USE IE. What's going on?
July 13, 200421 yr When turning them off; if you have XP pro, use the "end process tree" and it'll get ride of all programs associated with it..
July 13, 200421 yr long. but hope it helpsWtoolsa, WtoolsA.exeTB_Setup, TB_Setup.exeWinTools, WinTools.exeWsup, Wsup.exeWtoolss, WtoolsS.exeNightmarish set of tasks and services which form part of a Trojan horse virus which has been infecting large amounts of users since May 2004. Wtoolsa has caused an error in Kernel32? is the most common complaint, along with 100% CPU utilization, and extremely sluggish Internet access as a result of these tasks continually communicating, or attempting to communicate, with some server out on the Internet. While we are not sure how users get infected, most users we have come across also used KaZaA or some other file sharing program. At the time of writing, 28 May? 2004, this Trojan is not detected by most antivirus software. All the files, except for TB_SETUP, are installed in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\ WinTools folder. This has made many users think that the culprits were the people from WinTools.net but that is absolutely not the case.Recommendation :You need to get rid of this software, quickly ! Do as follows :1) On the Tasks tab of The Ultimate Troubleshooter, terminate each of the following tasks if present : TB_Setup, WinTools, Wsup, WtoolsA, WtoolsS.2) If you are on Windows 2000/XP/2003, switch over to the Services tab and stop the following service if found : WinTools for IE service (also listed as WToolsS). Next, set the Startup Mode of this service to Disabled.3) Switch over to the Startups tab, right-click on each of the following startup entries, if present, and choose Delete the file that this startup points to : TB_Setup, WinTools, Wsup, WToolsA, WToolsS.4) Next, delete every startup entry associated with any of these programs : TB_Setup, WinTools, Wsup, WToolsA, WToolsS.5) Restart your PC and go and delete the WinTools folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files.6) Manually update your antivirus software and run a full virus scan of your PC.7) Go to Add/Remove Programs? in the Control Panel and remove WinTools Easy Installer and WinTools for Internet Explorer 2. If Windows tells you that the software has already been deleted and would you like to remove the entry from Add/Remove Programs, answer Yes.8) Finally, download SpyBot , install it and run a full inspection and cleanup of your PC.

July 13, 200421 yr the ULTIMATE troubleshooting guide can be found AT ~YOUR LOCAL PC STORE~.. and it is in the Internet security section titled NORTON INTERNET SECURITY...Even if you cannot afford this you MUST get it, it will save you about 5 hours of working on the problems caused by viri and trojans, and other crap that YOU DL because you DONT have ANY PC security,,, i cannto stress this enough that you get this program, its not just you who is affected by the viri you have, its Everyone that you speak to on MSN, every website you view, Everyone on your address book and contact lists, A few things to watch out if you use Kazaa or P2P software, Anything less than 20k is most likely a virus, it if has an odd extention, whatever.jpg.exe, .bat, and a few others do NOT DL IT!!!! it WILL be a virus.
July 13, 200421 yr yep i got norton, great stuff. the only annoying part is when u have programs like steam and mIRC running, it blocks the "intrusions" and just messes everything up. it was kinda funny though, because then i tracked the IP with norton, and i found out the valve headquarters  but i forgot it

July 13, 200421 yr Question-> Since we are on the topic, I have a question about files that show up as "Adware" when I do my Norton Antivirus search. About 15 - 20 show up but most of them have weird names which I don't know about. SO i don't know if they are junk things, or files that my computer NEEDS.Can someone help telling me if the files are REAL adware or just things for my comp?ty. Ill post the file name up soon.

July 13, 200421 yr Author Sock you get more viruses than anyone I know. I will research it when I get home from work. I tell my parents to get Norton. We have the 2002 Edition, but when the Symantec subscription died, I asked for them to update it, and tried to explain. "No, no, no. We don't need to spend money, just don't download viruses" Don't download viruses? I've stopped over 75 viruses alone. Yet they still come. Parents still complain. I'm the Spiderman of computers D: JUST NOW. Windows has asked to reinstall itself. Unrecognized files. Thing is, I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE COMPUTER RIGHT NOW. Grounded or smt. For nothing, obviously, but my parents are afraid of change. They also complain about how slow this thing is, then I say "Go get an Anti-Virus". They reply with something like "You're the only one ever on, why don't you?" Wow. Maybe I should just let this computer go to waste. Be so much easier, and so much less arguing. Oh well. I got the free editon of AVG again, (someone deleted it off the comp before). It's detected 5 viruses running alone right now. I can't do this on my own, I have no money ( ). /runs AVG
July 13, 200421 yr Author Update: AVG caught 34 Viruses :\I'm now going to do Donut's instructions.AdAware Caught 88 things, too.
July 13, 200421 yr it was kinda funny though, because then i tracked the IP with norton, and i found out the valve headquarters  but i forgot it Norton logs previous connections both inbound and outbound. If you goto your "Security Monitor" and select "View Log Viewer" in the tasks dropdown box you see a complete log of all previous connections and a whole lot more. So, it appears that Valve's IP is 69.28.175.115 (Same as www.SteamPowered.com)
July 13, 200421 yr Author 3rd Post. 88 - Ad-Aware 34 - AVG 11 - Spybot 03 - Pastry Add that... adds up to 136 SFTIDN (Stupid Files That I Don't Need)
July 14, 200421 yr Author All cleaned up... for the most part. Internet Explorer is like a 'frikin jungle right now, I stay away from it
