July 19, 200421 yr Author how do you adjust bios voltage and agp, if you do that by hitting "F1" at startup and doing all that i think i cant do that, tried before. . . http://www.bearswim.com/mobo.jpg
July 19, 200421 yr Your CPU volts may be low. I do not know I ned to get to bed. Try to find out what they are supposed to be.If you have a HP I doubt you can access those features.Hitting repetedly F1 or del on boot gets you into most bioses.
July 19, 200421 yr Author ok, i will try to fix the volts, thanks for your help so far. . .now, time for some major HP h4x
July 19, 200421 yr Author i think the card could be going bad (had it since october) so im gonna have to save some money and buy a new one can cards just go bad like that??? my card is only 2 months older than yours, and I think I got more use out of it. I play on my computer a lot, and I rarely even shut it off. If this is the case, I still have a 3 year warranty for my card so I will just get it repaired, or they'll send me a new one or something. Is it possible that I just overused it and that there is nothing I can do?
July 19, 200421 yr Author i'm gonna try the partition thing i guess, i hope it works, and i hope it doesn't screw up my computer or something. . .
July 19, 200421 yr Author how will my computer know which partition to boot from, is there a way for me to tell it to boot from it??
July 19, 200421 yr Author i'm going to re-format my hard-drive, how should I go about doing this???should i just install windows xp over the version i currently have, or is there something else I should do?i'm backing up all of my important files to my blank dvd's so I won't worry about losing anything important
July 19, 200421 yr just insert your windows XP CD! and restart the machine, it will say something like "Press any key to boot from CD" hit any key (its the one just left of the escape key) when it says and you should be away..it will give you an option to REPAIR YOUR CURRENT INSTALLATION... try this 1st, then see you wont loose any data this way. if this doesnt help then FORMAT DRIVE on the next run!
July 19, 200421 yr Author ok, but i can't find my half like cd or cd-key at the moment, so i'm gonna wait a little bit to re-format
July 19, 200421 yr how do you adjust bios voltage and agp, if you do that by hitting "F1" at startup and doing all that i think i cant do that, tried before. . . http://www.bearswim.com/mobo.jpg That cpu voltage is too low, possibly enough to cause instability. Were you able to correct this. Acording to Mac it normally should be about 1.525 vdc. Also this may be a bug in the software but why does the -5volts show 3.45volts. Just looking for possibilites.
July 19, 200421 yr Author i was unable to fix this, it might be the problem, how am i supposed to fix it?is there something i can download, because i can't edit it at startup (pressing f1)
July 19, 200421 yr The bios has to support it and I doubt since its an Hp deal that it will allow you. What is the voltages reading in the bios. Sometimes software is buggy for certain motherboards when measuring voltages. I don't know much about this, but I remember hearing about some software that runs in windows to overclock your system instead from the bios. I wonder if that could possibly raise the voltage for you. I wonder if Mac knows anything about this. I also wonder if your power supply is doing its job, but most of the power supply voltages seem ok.
