August 5, 200421 yr if your a science fan: how bout this one, it's a Z-machine, a device used for research in nuclear fusion. They made the picture using a time-lapse camera, i got this one as one of my 6 kde desktops (the others are from the redhead gallery, won't place them here , though they are still decent, much like old fashioned pin-ups) http://www.sandia.gov/media/images/jpg/Z02.jpg RAW POWER: Electrical discharges illuminate the surface of the Z machine, the world's most powerful X-ray source, during a recent accelerator shot. By early 1998, the Sandia National Laboratories accelerator had achieved temperatures of 1.8 million degrees, close to the 2 to 3 million degrees required for nuclear fusion.
