August 17, 200421 yr Wow, if im ever that stupid when I become a cop, let the dirtbike go he deserves it. When you get out there things like that happen that doesnt mean he was stupid. You get tunnel vision when in a chase and sometime you just dont see things like that. Not to mention when you are traveling a lot faster than the normal speed you choices must be made quickly. If you make it I promise you that you will do things like that...it happens to rookies and veterans alike as any cop will tell you.

August 17, 200421 yr Yea, been there done that. Try driving a fire engine across the median of a interstate (not in the turn arounds. Had a bad car fire on the interstate, so much smoke, the traffic was stopped. The nearest turn around was 2 miles south of the scene, my LT wanted me there now, I was gonna go to the turn around, he instisted I cross the median because he didn't think I'd be able to get back to the scene very quick with all the backed up traffic, the median was shallow, and it hadn't rained for awhile so he thought it would be fine, I didn't, but he's the boss, got about half way across, and was "melon" deep in dirt... lol Still put the fire out from where I was at, but had to keep the interstate closed why we did it, and then it took 3 Heavy wreckers to get me out, even after I dumped my water tank.. Of course, it was my LT's fault, but made me look bad, and had us both in hot water with the chief, who was out of town at the time... TFD
August 17, 200421 yr rofl yeah Tough till it rains then the FORD RUSTS AWAY bordinko....... rofl i really wanted to see the look on his face if the cpt, had turned up as that train had smashed into his car =P
August 17, 200421 yr Hey police guys, isnt that termed the red mist?where the adrenaline rush shuts off the thinking part of your brain and goes into fight or flight mode!
August 17, 200421 yr just so u know state the cop is from iowa which means hes not as smart as the rest of us.
August 17, 200421 yr so when you say it happens to all you got your car stuck on the train tracks state?
August 17, 200421 yr lo man that was funny casue he was like look at him go and he ran up on tracks and got stuck LOL
August 17, 200421 yr No murdok but I have jumped some at a crossing while after another car. I didnt think I was going to make it because my car went airborne then come down HARD with a lot sparks, then slid through an intersection. I still caught the guy but it could have easily happened to me or worse. It is easy to Monday morning quarter back something when you were not there not have you done that kind of job before. I have done some things like go into a house while bullets were hitting the walls all around...later thinking.....what the hell was I thinking. Lucky for me and the team I was with we were not hurt. The point is you dont know what you will do in that 1/4 second you have to make the correct choice. Then people have days and weeks to pick you apart of something you have to do in under 1 second.

That's why I hated the part of SWAT, where the chick got shot. I vocalized my thought, no worries: Dude - "She's suing the city for millions" Me - Cutting in - "That *****" Hah, got a few wierd looks, and a nice little warning.
August 18, 200421 yr man that sucks...but it happens to the best of "us".....still funny when its over.
August 18, 200421 yr i saw that on cops its funny when he sees the train coming and doesnt know if its gonna turn, and he was probly focsed on catching the guy and thought he could jump it lol
