Stupid Incidents at Work

Featured Replies

That movie from "Cops" inspired me to tell this stupid story of my own.. First of all, the cop wasn't dumb he was in a chase and thought he could make it. People that actually don't do the job don't actually know what goes on behind the scenes. Nuff said on that.At our transit company about 12 years ago we got these new buses. They were totally different than anything else we've ever driven before and took some getting used to. I parked my bus at the terminal ( place where all the buses meet and there is a little waiting area and some flower beds and benchs). I got out to go inside to use the phone and when I got out my bus was resting on top of a cement park bench and had driven through the flower bed on its own. There was one passenger on the bus and she was a little shaken up. The worst thing was this old lady in a wheelchair was sitting right beside my bus. I can only imagine where I'd be now if she was sitting in front of it. It was quite terrible at the time but now we all laugh about it. This same sort of incident happened 6 times at work after getting these new buses. I forgot to set the park brake. Duh! Anyways, one bus travelled about a half block and into a grocery store at our other terminal and another rolled across the street into a Brewery Warehouse. I got a day off no pay for my incident. Got off pretty easy I'd say. We've had many stupid incidents at work-buses stolen because the driver was taking too long in the terminal and the customer got impatient. The police had to catch it and drive in front to stop it because the spike belts didn't work.- two buses hitting each other leaving the terminal in a hurry and goofing around.- we even had one drive into a river when the driver had a heartattack. The driver is fine and so is the bus.So, if you have a stupid story post it here so we can all laugh at or with you.Klink_Out!
I have kinda sad/sick stories. Before i went to college i worked at a brick works, where we made Fire Bricks, which are used in the construction of Kilne's, Steel mill's etcAnyways, right behind the factory there was a railway line and it seemed to be a popular suicide hotspot.3 times in 6 months we heard a kinda big thud, and we all knew someone else had thrown themselves infront of the train.Also...during the summer ,pools of spilt tar used to re-liquify (if thats even a word  ) and occasionaly frogs, newts and other small insects used to think it was water and they would get stuck in it and eventaully drown, we had a small collection of tar'd (ROFL!!!!) animals on a ledge in MY office, yeah thats right i had my own office...w00t  .
i am not sure what is more disturbing, that you had your own office or that on its ledge you kept dead animals covered in tar  but still its kinda funny(the tar animals and not the suicide)i have a funny story but its not about work so i cant tell you
Aye, well, I was volunteering at a golf tournament last week, and I got to drive the BIG golf cart! I mean, this things like, 3 times bigger than regular golf carts. Well, I didn't realize the length of the wheelbase and constantly cut corners, knocking everything down. D:I learned from that lesson. Now I know how to turn corners in cars (Yes, I, the underage driver, drove today!!)

-buses stolen because the driver was taking too long in the terminal and the customer got impatient. The police had to catch it and drive in front to stop it because the spike belts didn't work.

- two buses hitting each other leaving the terminal in a hurry and goofing around.

- we even had one drive into a river when the driver had a heartattack. The driver is fine and so is the bus.

I remember hearing about those stories.

Negative it was the guy that drove onto the river and another that doesnt work there anymore.
Well, this isn't actually my work. I was at an airport, with one of my g/fs step-dads friends, who happens to be a helicopter-flight-instructor at this airport was showing me all this stuff to get a private pilots license. Anyway, people were still trying to get all the requirments to get the license. One of them was to fly up and do a 360 and then land. So, the kid flies up, does his 360 and when he comes to land, starts drifting back and the skid was sliding and got stuck on the tarmac, so he tried to pull up while it was stuck, so the helicopter bounces around on the ground, until finnaly the kid puts it straight down, turns off the rotors. He damaged the helicopter frame up, very badly. Tail rotor was destroyed. I hope this kid had some kind of insurance.. because phew.. That would suck paying for all that.
