August 26, 200421 yr okI'm getting this problem with the EA logo.Whenever I start up say Battlefield 1942 or Command and Conquer Generals. The EA logo goes all screwyyou know the logo, the one that says 'Challene Everything'well, you see the sound plays as it should. But the image of it flying, and kind of pulsing is REALLY laggy. I mean like move an inch foward every minute or so.I don't know what's causing it. I think it might be Service Pack 2, or DirectX 9.0c, but I'm not surecan anyone enlighten me?
August 26, 200421 yr dx9c is certainly a probable cause. that has not been released as offiicial yet yo umay want to check the site and see which programs have known errors
August 26, 200421 yr dx9c is certainly a probable cause. that has not been released as offiicial yet yo umay want to check the site and see which programs have known errors I agree Direct X 9.0c is in beta. That would likely be your problem. If you don't need 9.0c, I would go to 9.0b. If you do need it way may have to deal with it until they release an updated version.
August 26, 200421 yr both those games arent really new, so that means he wouldnt need 9.0c just go back to 9.0b
August 26, 200421 yr If the games play fine you can right click the game icon, click properties and in the target box add +restart1. This will bypass all that and go straight to the game.example.....\bfvietnam.exe" +restart1
August 26, 200421 yr Author :Sthat's not really workingfor Generals I'm getting some Technial Difficulty thing and it won't startshould I just reinstall DirectX 9.0b? or is there a way to "downgrade" as they say
August 27, 200421 yr Did you check out to see if service pack 2 is the culprit i know it is not compatible with lots of software including game shoot it even has problems with microsoft word so that could be something to check into.
August 27, 200421 yr Author I checkedit doesn't seem to have problems with itor at least, I couldn't find the games I had in the list
August 27, 200421 yr Just download and install 9.0b... It'll overwrite the 9.0c files. If that doesnt work, then I dunno.
August 27, 200421 yr Author I redownloaded 9.0b and when I tried to install it it said something like 'You have a newer version of DirectX installed. Installation will now exit."
