August 29, 200421 yr This is Tiger Direct Canada Get this Motherboard...... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=634806&sku=S451-2034 Get this Processor....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=633516 Get this Memory..... 512mb....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=586829 Or 256mb if Money is short....... 256mb ....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=660127 I would get this videocard....... http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=697012&CatId=1091 Spend the money on the core system, CPU, Mobo, Memory for the moment. Actually I would Not even get the videocard yet. Build this system with your current Videocard, Case, HD, CDrom, Floppy etc etc. Try it out and see how you like it. If your card is not adequate. Then upgrade say for a X-mas present. BTW your current memory is not compatible with this system. Mac

August 29, 200421 yr BTW. This system, when the Videocard is upgraded, will absolutely rock compared to above.Plus if you need to in time. You can overclock with it and the NF2 Mobo is extremely bulletproof when it comes to overclocking. When it crashes from you pushing it too far it does not screw up any of the other things in your system b/c it locks the PCI bus automatically.

August 29, 200421 yr Author I heard that the 5600 doesnt work that well with hl2 or doom3.. and that I should spend about 200 on a good vid card.Btw, what do u mean when u said that my current memory is not compatible?Do you mean I have to get the memory first then the processor/motherboard?

August 30, 200421 yr Your memory is not compatable with either upgrade MOBO. You will have to buy it no matter what.AS far as the videocard. You are correct about the HL2 or Doom but it will still play them OK. However.......You MUST get new Memory, Mobo, CPU.......You do NOT have to get a videocard. The MX 440 WILL play games without extra cost. It will have good framerates. NOT HL2 or Doom3 but when you have the money, upgrade to a Better card.

August 31, 200421 yr Author Okay, thanks for the help Mac, and everyone else.I'll stick with what mac is telling me, use the money for memory, motherboard, and processor for now, then a good vid card later.I'm thinkin about still getting the ATI radeon 9800 pro. I talked to a few comp smarty pantsers and they say that the 5600 would JUST run doom3 on low.But I need something that will RUN teh perdy hl2. cuz i cant stand having lag anymore with a 500mhz D:so my dad says in a couple of months, when he gets money, he will upgrade the comp. Then maybe for christmas, he can spend some on the video card. One more thing mac, do I need to get a fan with this stuff? Im thinkin yes, but which one?Ripper

August 31, 200421 yr It'll depend, ripper. Do you have a fan on your current case? If you don't plan on overclocking for a bit, you won't need a fan. If you want to overclock, a fan is a MUST.
