actually i have done my research. if you would realize that you dont compare 64 bit cpu's in a 32 bit comparison. even if you are running the CPU in 32 bit mode. let me put in some itanium benchmarks in as well  anymore colorful pictures?

I thought that AMD's CPU's were 64/32 bit - So they could be used whenever. Hence when brought to a 32 bit comparison, they'd work just fine...

they do work in 32 bit apps. hence why the game was able to be played on the CPU.

Setting aside your disapproval of running 64-bit cpu's in a 32-bit test although it uses the same instruction set, based on the game doom3 the AMD 3400+ out performs the P4 3.4ghz EE. That P4 cpu cost $1,060. That AMD one cost $375.

Yes the P4 has it's advantages. If someone ask that they wanted the fastest computer possible for divx encoding I would say an Intel cpu.

it does alot more than just that. if anyone asked me for a PC i would recommend intel everytime, business or personal. i want a CPU that is solid across the board. not one that might compete on a few levels.

and your prices are off. you can get a p4 3.4 EE for $900 :)

i think we need alot more details and or benchmarks/tests to decide. one little graph from a source unknown wont do.

but someone told me (not sure who) its not that good...

i like it tho, and if u don´t take everything u read on this page as given and absolute, u should be on the save site...

yes i know that site well. they often are influenced by their own sponsors and kick backs to promote certain products. most websites do this. thats why if you ask people in the know in the industry they will tell you not to take 99% of the tests and benchmarking done on the net with a grain of salt. also so many people rig the applications used to do this testing. even game demo testing is adjusted to certain hardware and results. tom's is nice for general info and reviews. but for detailed benchmarking and information i dont give it a second look.

Supposidly the BEST Non-Biased review site out there.

This one links to reviews of a lot of videocards, mobo's, and games/stuff.
