Question about Half-Life 2

Do i think it will be enough? No but it will probably run it just not "well" The games im beta testing are giving my system hell and i only have a 1.2gig with a geforece4 ti4600.
I have a GForce2 mx 400 64mb....about 300mhz...2.55gb of free space...and I don't know how much memory...but I'm still able to play the newest and greatest games around smoothly as ever...Ut2k3MorrowindCnC Generalsall these hyped up games are as smooth as a babie's bottom 4 me :p
Whoever said the minimum for Doom III is 3ghz is an idiot.Doom III is on par (maybe better I don't know) with HL2's graphics. There is no way a game is going to have a minimum requirement anytime soon. So, make sure that if you ever see the person that told you that slap him.
-Killer From Away]i heard the minum for doom ]|[ was gonna be 3ghz (intel of corse)so i for see some new comps being bought this winter

I have and played an alpha-leak of Doom3. I have a 2.39 GHz, GeForce Ti 4600 and 512 MB RAM (I don't know the tech. specs. for the RAM.It ran very well, except when I put too many random light sources on the map. :) Oh... and my uncle ran it perfectly fine, and his computer is like... a full generation below mine... like 1.7, bad graphics card and probably 256 RAM (all random but close estimates.)P.S.: The leak had 3 levels and they weren't 100% finished. The file .rar file is 372,834 KB and the un-compressed is 1.08 GB (the entire game folder)
The leaked game was from a long time ago anyway, and it wasn't even ready to be played. So any estimates for system reqs shouldn't be too positive. If anything, the real game will run even better on your systems.

Exactly my point. :)
-Kamikaze]I agree, whomever said it was a 3 ghz chip isn't brightMost people don't constantly ugrade their cpu's all the timeNot that many have a 3 gig chip yetI'm only getting a P4 3.06 with Hyper Threading because of my programming machine, so I can compile my code fasterIt's not gonna be a 3 gig chip required, maybe 2 at the most

My only guess is that it's a typo meant to be for "2".Either that or the game is coming out in like... 2.5 years. :)
the alpha was kinda bad, but it was still used as a guage. the graphics are intense if set full on and its gonna take a great machine to run it at 60+ fps with all options turned on, however i dont think the requirement will be over 1.5ghz to run it with some of the options turned off. the 3ghz "requirement" is just what id wants for the game, not what itll require. they want it to be able to have the ability to take full advantage of a 3ghz or higher machine.i dont know which im more excited over, doom 3 or half life 2.
Doom]|[ alpha took a huge machine to run because it was an alpha. The requirments will be toned down before it's fully released
same..I think that no matter how pretty it is...the game is basicly kill all monstersRemember: A good looking pile of shiate, is still a pile of shiate
Keep in mind that Doom 3 is going to be completely different style than the previous Doom titles. There is reloading.More monsters.Previous monsters have been update to look and act more "realistic."The entire style is going to be different.Mapping is COMPLETELY different, levels couldn't have rooms be stacked upon one another. You couldn't jump or look up/down either.Play the alpha leak and view the video they released.
