Get popups ONLY when Steam is running.

Featured Replies

Yeah. ONLY when Steam is running. IE also likes to run in the background for some reason when Steam is running. It's using 20,000 kb of my memory, and pissing me off. Help please.

Steam doesn't cause ads, I have it and mine's perfectly ok

stop going to...shady...websites and you should stop getting em

www.google.com and search for Spybot S&D

that's a good program to search for and destroy spyware

and this just sounds like a comman spyware problem

Steam uses IE to display certain aspects (adds in the "browse games" section for example are handled via web based script, Also if you minimise then right click on the steam windows that you have minimised, and hit close, itll stop the memory leak.
