CES confirms Bill Gates keynote - Xbox 2 announcement expected

The Consumer Electronics Show has confirmed that Microsoft chairman Bill Gates is set to give a pre-show keynote speech in Las Vegas o­n January 5th next year - with a public announcement of Xbox 2 widely expected.

 

Gates will speak o­n Wednesday, January 5th at 6.30pm PST, the night before the opening of the CES event - which is the largest trade show of any description in North America, and is expected to attract 130,000 professionals from 110 countries over its three-day span.

Sorry G Halo2 is to be released Nov.9 not Jan.5 and the X-Box2 won't be sold then, just announced which is a long way from being able to buy it :PThe X-Box2 will problably be not show at the CES but more likely atthe E3 in May 2005 (Which is the BIGGEST show when it comes toelectronic entertainment, bah CES whish they'd be as cool as the E3 )[DIAL]Doc

yea it seems strangemost likely X-Box games will work on X-Box 2

Uhm, I'm sorry to destroy your dreams but (to my knowledge) X-Box2 will not be backwards compatible with X-Box. To me that seems the biggest drawback for the X-Box2. But X-Box2 has a totaly differend Hardware (IBM CPUs and ATI Gfx vs Intel CPU and NVIDIA Gfx) so that backwards compability dosen't seem a natural thing. They mighttry an emulation aproach but again haven't heard about any of that ^_^And to G All the stuff about X-Box2 so far are rumors nothing has been confirmed yetby Microsoft, so that announcment at CES will clear up all the rumors about the X-Box2 and will tell people (more or less) what it will be :)It's not about telling us 'Yes there is going to be an X-Box2 thank you for comming' [DIAL]Doc
