October 21, 200421 yr We're playing this little thing for history (Great Depression) and I kind of need a melancholy type of bass line, to go with the depressing state people were in at that time.We don't want the bass overpowering, so something that kind of goes like Turn the Page (Metallica version) at the start? Y'know?
October 21, 200421 yr I'd whip you one up, but my comp isn't reading my base thru the front plug right now, and I'm too lazy to set it up.Just go on a variation from the standard punk baseline. Ie:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------3-------------------------------------------------3--3--5--5--1--1--1--1--1---------------Let me play around a bit and I'll get a good one for you. Maybe try that one by metallica about the guy in ww2..--------------------------------------------------------0------------------------------------------------------------4-----0----4----0---------4-----0-------4----0---------4----0------4----0----4----0--------------------2-----2---------------------2------2----------------------2----2------0----0-----------------2----2--2--2----------------3-----3------------------------3-----3------------------------------3----3-----0---2------------
October 21, 200421 yr yea, sry just got back from t3h school and had a brain fart... Too many polynomials in maf. neways unforgiven and hero of the day are good to... (both by 'tallica)Also, "a place for my head" and "my december" by linkin park are good. "say it ain't so" by weezer went really well with a video I did for Socials a year back or so.Also, I have a question for those south of the border, Is the new CD by Greenday popular down in the US? Up here everybody loves it, and I'm just wondering becuase of the topics of some of the songs.I would have gone to see them in vancover in november if I didn't have a regatta :x
October 21, 200421 yr its popular with greenday fans, but there a re a lot of places where theres plenty of people who arent too pleased
October 22, 200421 yr if you like green days music go buy it plus i dont think the bass line in weezer would fit...it would have to something original..or thats wut i think
October 22, 200421 yr ??? Are you refering to the base line in the song, or just the general sound of weezer?
October 22, 200421 yr lol, if im feeling depressed or something ill plug my bass in to my compt at some point and boot up cubasis if you want, but im in kinda a good mood with the whole sox thing, so it would probably inadvertantly come out cheerful
October 22, 200421 yr cubasis? I've got a program/connection for hooking up guitars to my computer. I've got a program for recording my guitar, but it doesn't work with the base.
October 22, 200421 yr hahahha. hmm. are you naming depressing songs.. if so "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails (or you losers out there (cow) Jonny Cash)-G
October 22, 200421 yr if you want nin i'd use the day the world wnet away, and cubasis is a midi and vst instrument program, i have it set up so that my bass goes into my amp, and the line out from the amp goes into the mic two port on my front bay for my audigy sound card. Then i do basic drumlines or instrumental type things in cubasis and play the bass over them
October 22, 200421 yr Author Just naming lines that would go nicely with a more depressing time back in the 30's.It's mostly vocals but if there is a nice bass line in there it would be even better. Thanks everyone !
October 22, 200421 yr If you can find it use the bass line from Streetlight Manifesto - A Moment of Silence
October 22, 200421 yr um repo. i was thinking more along the lines of words. "You can have it all. my empire of dirt. I will you down. I will make you hurt." blah blah blah. i consider that song one of the most depressing songs ever . top 10 least. #1 for me. -G
