I was listening on the radio today waiting for the verdict. I live in the bay area where all this is happening so its big around here. Its amazing that they convicted him for first degree murder on circumstantial evidence.

In my opinion, all the evidence pointed to him being guilty. He gets what he deserves.Becca

Heinous crime i agree, and I hope justice is in fact being served, but I still have to wonder: What makes this case any different from any of the other similar crimes that go unheralded. What gives the media the right to decide what case is more important than any other? This puts public/political pressure on police to solve the case. Other cases are put on hold, and the possibitlity of mistakes being made are increased. In essence justice is hindered. Same goes for those retarded celebrity cases, WTH do they get preferential treatment? When was the last time a celebrity actually served a real sentence? Martha's 5 month sentence to Club Fed doesnt count. For God's sake Roman Polanski raped a 13 yo girl and we let him trapeze around Europe, why isnt he on the Marshal's Fugitive List? Same goes for all the other hollywood losers who have ended up doing the perp walk. Phew, im done

He was obiously guilty, and I am glad of the verdict.Now this may be a little leftist hippy tree hugger of me, but I am against the death penalty for various reasons.He may be a baby murdering jerk, but we aren't any better then he is if we sink to his level and give him the chair, needle, gallows, firing squad...whatever.

Well if you just killed your wife are you going to be calling your girlfriend in public? No, he waited until he got home to do that at night and during the day he made it look like he "cared" while still making time to play golf. Think about how many people have done this stuff and took a lead role in the search to try and shift the blame off them? How about that woman in SC that drove her kids in the lake then got on TV telling how she was car jacked and then helped in the search.

yeaall I've been seeing is what they put on CNN in the morning.Watching Crossfire (CNN) now, and they're arguing over the case now.The guy says Scott didn't really have a motive, and there was no direct evidence, and in almost any other case, the case would've been thrown out or he would've been found non-guilty.

God, i had forgotten all about this case until i saw the guilty verdict. I remember when it first hit the news. Another supposive kidnapping. Thats when i turned the channel and forgot about it.Why did help with the search? so the police wouldn't consider him a suspect.I believe in the death penality, but thats not what this thread is about. If they fry him, fine, if not, they need to make him pregnet, then beat him to within an inch of his poor, pathetic life. The repeat once a month for the rest of his life.

As far as I know, the evidence was circumstantial. I also do not believe in the death penalty. Good thing you guys live in Canada, but down here you do NOT have to establish motive. However there was plenty, as for evidence you mean the fact he was fishing close to where the body was found doesnt make you wonder along with the fact he was about to leave the country prior to being arrested.How about about to have a baby that he didnt want because he had a girl friend. Where I work we call that a clue.You guys have a warped way of looking at things up there...must be all the cold air.
