Well..."Theres a tank in my house!" (bottom of the screen...this is from an old game called Close Combat A Bridge too Far....my guys in the house both got bronze stars for bravery )

i have that still installed. rarely use it but is still good in my opinion for stategy and position challenge. I like how the tracers from hidden or beyond view help you decide what to do. congrats on your stars. if it were to have option of original overhead view or "in your face view" like fa, that would be awesome, as would fa if it had option to see overhead where most were :wink:

I have that game too and we were just talking about playing it again.

I played CC Russian Front. It's good, too.

 

What I really hated about this game was when I conquered Stalingrad, Moscow (I played German side) I couldn't win it... My army had to move back to Berlin and then, when I defended Berlin I won. Didn't make much sense...

Its really a fun game. I just installed it again because my brother mentioned it.

 

Germans, in my opinion, are a LOT easier to use. Most of their units get Panzerfausts so they can take out Allied tanks with ease. Also they get tanks before the Allies do (in the Grand Campaign at least)

 

I had a Vickers mg team that, over the course of 3 battles, killed 77 men in all. The gunner had 45, the loader had 25, and the other assistant had 17.....then I accidently put them in a more vulnerable position (I had 2 vickers and didnt know which was which....wasnt evern thinkin about it) so they died

 

Oh well.....new vickers team racked up some good kills.

that game was fun, but the sound effects, and the emotion meters on the troops always made it heart wrenching to lose men. Every game was emotionally draining

Ive had some pretty BA troops before. I love recons....pop smokes with em, rush in, mow em down with 3 thompsons. I had one recon guy mow down an entire Flak gun crew in about 5 seconds after my super accurate mortar hit it on the first shot....I love it when I have a good mortar. That recon guy started off the gun crew killing by throwin a nade 30 meters and NAILING the guy while the crewman was on the run. That guy must've been a quarterback.

 

And I think that I found myself a GOOD sniper (go figger!) on the same map that I have the good vickers....he killed 3 people I think, and he LIVED! That never happens when I use a sniper.....they never can hit anything.

where can this game be aquired?

You can acquire this game from a very bargain bin I'd imagine. Hogan and I used to play this a few years back. Good game.

Is "Invasion Normandy" any good? It's all I could "find".
