I need to get back in shape bad..... really bad....

I'm 5'10" and weighing in at 181lbs now.... not good weight, the bad weight and I need some help.

Back when I graduated from bootcamp I came out at 160lbs, built, cut, in perfect shape, could run 3 miles in 19 minutes which was great for me since I was never a distance runner only a sprinter backin high school.

So, I'm looking to trim myself up and get back in shape. What I need to know are, what are some good supplements to take? I've never really used any before but now that I am older I'm sure it is harder to get back in shape.

So, if any of you guys workout, what do you use if anything, or what do you do.

Creatine works well, I dont use it (im saving it as a last resort since it is kind of expensive), but one of my RA's does. Apparently it tastes really good in shake form, and it seems to work for him. Just be sure to get the stuff from GNC or something, and not Wal Mart.

Myself, I use good old fashion sources of protein. I eat an omelette or scrambled eggs every morning, and through out the day, will eat between 4-10 hard boiled eggs. Occasionally I will have a plain hamburger too. Its to be working for me, I have noticed significant muscle strength and definition since I started working out on a daily basis about 8 weeks ago. Too be honest, I wouldnt use supplements, except multivitamins, unless nothing else is working, its unnatural and feels a little like I would be cheating. Just my opinion though. I was in a similar situation as you, except I had never been fit period, and over a year (almost 2 now), I have made huge strides, and I feel very rewarded knowing I did it without any extra "help", just exercise, low fat/diet/lite foods, and cutting back on sodas

I've used Creatine in the past when I was working out on a bench.

With this new workout to get me in shape I am just thinking about... running on Mondays, Bench on Wednesdays, and mix of both on Fridays.

I was just looking for some good sups to go with my workout because I know for a fact I am not going to be eating the way I should lol

do the same thing u did in boot camp??

Ya, I could but theres work, wife, baby on the way, etc.. plus I need a DI screaming at me 24/7 for motivation :D

I just use Protein Supplements. They're not supposed to build strength though. They build muscle mass.

but I do remember the first year I started using Protein supplements.

Thats right. There is no supplement for Runing biking etc etc.

I would ride a bike. Either Road or Mountain or a combo of both. It is not as pounding on a your body as running and bike crowds although geekish are cool people.

Working out is just that. There is no workaround for it. Just look at the Baseball players....... :D

i would suggest having a morning jog on an empty stomach , you want to loose the few extra pounds this is the best way (your body will lack carbohydrates which causes it to use the fat stored as energy= burn) and also if you are lethargic at first you could have a cup of coffee for the boost, it is known and was tested on cyclists as a fat burner (coffeine that is). Suplements wise i would recommend the creatine serrum worked wonders for me look it up online. No side effects, enhanced delivery, fast improvement and works both ways reducing body weight and assuring lean muscle mass gain gain. So it must be little cardio to begin with, once your stamina is up to the task then you might look at weights. Cheers
