March 28, 200521 yr Should I pre-order BF2 for my birthday? What will the minimum requirements be? -e- IS IT WORTH MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT?
March 28, 200521 yr Well there are different mininum requirements on different sites, I got this: Target Minimum Specification Machine: 1.5 Ghz CPU 512 Megabytes of RAM 128 MB video card (must support 1.4 shaders) Minimum: 933 Mhz CPU Directx 9.0b 3D accelerated GeForce3 64 MB or equivalent DirectX9 compatible video card 256 Megabytes of RAM 2 GB free hard drive space (additional space required for Windows swap-file and DirectX 9.0b installation) 16x CD-ROM drive Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card MS compatible mouse Keyboard Recommended: 1.2 Ghz CPU Directx 9.0b 3D accelerated GeForce3 64 MB or equivalent DirectX9 compatible video card 512 Megabytes of RAM 2 GB free hard drive space (additional space required for Windows swap-file and DirectX 9.0b installation) 16x CD-ROM drive Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card MS compatible mouse Keyboard
March 28, 200521 yr my guess (bare minimum requirements): 1.7 ghz 512 mb ram 128 mb DX9 compatible card so u got 3 ghz make sure u have 1 gig of RAM. im guessing a 9600XT would be sufficient for 30+ FPS
March 29, 200521 yr Author im guessing a 9600XT would be sufficient for 30+ FPS I have a RADEON 9200. I think I'm in the hole here. 3ghz I have.
March 29, 200521 yr You *MAY* need a new video card for great play. I would bet you could still run it but may have to back down the res since you got a good CPU. The specs I heard on the video about the release the guy said they still were not sure. He said he thought the min would be around 1.8 Ghz, at LEAST 512 but could be 1024 of RAM. He was unsure about the Vid Card specs at that time, but said it would be between a 64MB card and a 128MB card. I am guessing to play the min would be 1.8 P4 or higher 512 MB RAM 64MB Vid Card.
March 29, 200521 yr Heh, if BFV is any indication, anything less then a 9600 Pro or Geforce 5700 won't cut it if you plan on running at 1024 x 768 even if using minimal settings. As well, because of the large number of textures, you probably want a minimum of a 128MB card. It won't increase your FPS, but it will stop you from getting short pauses when your texture cache is full and you see a new event that requires a new texture load. I saw this alot in BFV with my retail 64MB 8500 (which is far superior to a 9200 because the 8500 pipes are 4x2 versus 4x1 on the 9200) and on a Ti 4200 with 64MBs, but a GeForce 5700 with 128MBs made this problem go away.
