Scout Models

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a cool scout model for CSS? the default one bugs the HELL out of me and my friend....i mean the scope just looks way too far up.

This is the only good replacement I have been able to find. Enjoy.

You put models in:

whatever@wherever.com\counter-strike source\cstrike\models\weapons

You'll probably have to make the folders if they aren't there already. If you want to be CAL legal then you can rename the "models" folder to something else and then steam won't load those models. Then you can change it back after the match. Same with sounds and any other custom content.

CSS is really convenient in that you don't actually replace the content, but if you have a directory pointing at custom content then CSS will load that content rather than the defaults. If it doesn't find anything, then it loads the defaults.

(That's also the same model I use :0 )

its extremely easy to install that model. Unzip it. Drag all the folders within the folder you unzipped to into the directory seth mentioned. Overwrite existing=yes. Thats it you're done.
dont use custom models

Is there some kind of rule against using custom models for CAL? I don't use them at the moment but I have been wanting to get some for the scout.
Using enhanced/colored models/skins/sounds will result in a forfeit for your team as well as the probability of further disciplinary actions. Pretty much straight from the CAL rules. The rules also say you have to use default models, but it doesn't say the penalty for using models/skins/sounds that aren't enhanced/colored. So I guess they consider all nondefault models etc. to be enhanced/colored to avoid biased interpretations.
