How would you rate the new release of Firearms 3.0. The is the "official" Armory poll/thread, so please place your comments here ...

I must say, that i feel a little bit as i had begun playing fa over a year ago. For the first time since months i enjoy playing that game again. I hope this feeling will last some time.

I feel as though it could be improved with small patches in the future, Overall i believe its better than 2.9, generally because of the faster gameplay.

 

If i actually rated it out of 10 i would give it a pleasing 7, Im happy with this version.

I will give it "excellent". There is always room for improvement, though this is a great release.

Ok, I played for a few minutes, and found something I don't like for sure. When you throw a grenade or M-79 round, and die before they explode, the blast is not counted. I would like to know why that was done. This is not by accident... this was coded in...

new sounds, horrible animations, and u can kill people beyond a 1 foot radius now with automatic ARs. only things that changed.

 

gave it a D since my M4 pwns even more.

 

but ill keep playing for a few more days, see if things get better then im back to NS :sorry:

I have played quite a bit now and the more I play the more I don't like it. Cancel the FA server for all I care. Lets do some BFV. It seems like a few guys went and took a great mod ( my favorite EVER by the way) and made it to suit them. Tailor made for Famas and M4 ( Famas Clone) and that is it. Sure, AR's have been beefed up but still not Famas level. I can barely even get close to .500 K/D. But that's me,I guess I suck. Maybe I have to get used to the speed.

 

Anyway, I'm playing and all the feeling I get is that someone wanted this game to be a certain way and it is certainly not a way that the general public is going to love playing. Don't get me wrong but most people don't play 30 hours a week to be good at a game.

Sad to say but I get 0 reg now and what seems to be aton of lag on some maps.

 

I used to love playing Sandblast and was at least 2nd or 3rd in total for the map. I have played it 4 times in 3.0 and couldn't get near top 10 even. Why? I don't think I have lost all the limited skill I had 2 days ago. Hmmmmm, something is off and that is all I know.

 

I might go the way of Wellsy and quit this game too and start BFV more.

 

I have heard many NEW players( the ones that should want to keep playing) say " man this game is impossible". Is that what you wanted from this mod? Sure, you could say learn how to aim or whatever you like but this game certainly didn't get any better with this version IMHO. I'd rather watch The Bachelor on T.V. than play this. lOLOLOLOLOL.!1!!!!

 

And, now, after reading FA forums and seeing thing styped on screen in games it seems like 3.0 was made just to screw certain players and playing styles. Hahahah he can't snipe me anymore unless he is 5,000 feet away and camming, or hahahah he isn't as fast as he used to be now. Pfffffft, give me a break. I never did like the sniping at close range or the guys jumping around like clowns but now.............blahhhhhhhh. Maybe I haven't given it enought time or I am not good enought to make these opinions but I am an avid player and maybe not so avid anymore. Think about THAT.

i like it, the famas is still rigged.............the leet ess players are even more leeter.......it was not balanced at all

I dont think that FA 3.0 will bring more players to the servers..

I think its great. Every gun can kill now. And famas is more balanced(it finally takes a long time to reload). And, all pistols reload faster too.

 

For some reason though, the sterling decimates now. If it would if had a 3 credit pistol, I could of had full heavy with grenades, pistol and sterling. Schweet. :sorry:

omg it sucks out loud....my m14 scope sprite wont work AT ALL. Whuh? could tell you. i....pissed and moaned all night about it when i was playing and the only thing i liked was the map obj_vengeance.....and i for one think i was screwed over on this new release. it sucks....end of story...i expected better. :sorry:

WOW!! D/L'd 3.0 today, and I thought 2.9 was terrible. This latest release really sheds some light on what turned me off playing FA! Felt like CS with more guns! It is completely different then where it began and should have stayed. Not to rain on the fans of FA's parade, but in "my" opinion, 3.0 is the worst release to date. It is shame to see a great mod end this way.

I imagine as people play it more, they'll like it more.... They still might think it's bad though. :peace: Won't get me to start playing again, even though I do think it's an improvement of 2.9.

Did you re-download the installer?

 

Do a clean install?

 

Try normal sprites?

 

Try Custom sprite?

 

i recommend you try this order, and if it doesnt work, Copy over a sniper rifle sprite and try that.

 

How about just try my games m14 sprite?

 

place in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOUREMAIL\half-life\firearms\sprites

I voted Excellent....because I think it is excellent. I personally thought that it was more balanced than it was. m249 is more accurate now. I like it

Oh Klink it's like the first time you played FA remember? You didn't care for it much back then but with time you learned to like. I'm sure with time you'll like it and be back to your old capping self in no time.

 

As for me well I haven't installed it yet, I was busy installing it for Hogan and testing it out on his pc to see how it looks and if I installed everything correctly, so far Hogan is having no problems, so I guess I did a great job installing for him and putting in his custom xhairs and so forth.

Klink I think had bad time adjusting to faster movement speed and different weapon shooting spreads, strength, slower reload on some, etc ...

I get laughs from the new sounds, thankyou creators... the m79 sounds like a "woot", then "boom" ... makes me laugh i enjoy innocent laughs in gaming I didn't notice til Gator's mention of it, that the grenades won't register actual kills if you get killed just after sending it. That wrong. But, trying to find a positive note, maybe it will train some of us to do better at not getting hit especially using grenades. More challenging.

 

I found the ak47 rather more effective then i remember it ... you aim at face you get face often. Where as I used to famas aiming at belt, BUT NOT BELOW THE BELT, to hit face

 

Anyway, all give it a chance and time to decide "pros" and "cons"
