April 20, 200521 yr As my final act of community-interaction*, I thought I'd reach out to the others of you who are tired of the Firearms community's petty bickering, whining, and flaming. Here are some suggestions on how to ease the pain of the people, while still enjoying a game that really is a good game at its core. First, turn off IRC, and stop surfing the forums. These two actions alone will make you feel better about the game. Also, leave your clan. A drastic move for some, maybe, but all the strife in the community stems from clanning. So stop clanning, and stop contributing to the downfall of a great game. Now, when you're in-game, the first step is to turn off all microphone communication, and in your console type "hud_saytext 0". Unfortunately, this move destroys a bit of the game itself -- communication to be exact -- but it's a necessary evil to also get rid of the constant arguements and crying that goes on during gameplay. I'm sure none of you will take my advice, and that's unfortunate. Clanning in general, and Elitism and e-Penii have so far -- and will continue to -- usher the destruction of Firearms. And I, for one, will do my small part to keep the game alive. --The Klif dv *=I realize you don't care. I don't mind. Original post here. April 20, 200521 yr I can offer some more advice... If you want to keep the game alive, please click the "Donate" link on the right of the main page and make a donation. It is "Clanners" like us that keep servers up and running for people like "you" to play on. I changed one of your statements above to read... "Clanning in general, and continued donations have so far -- and will continue to -- usher the continued existance of Firearms. And I, for one, will do my small part to keep the game alive." Also, please let me give you some interesting facts... Website rental: $10 - monthly Ventrilo rental: $15 - monthly Game server rental: $139 - monthly Website and game server software purchases: $250 - one time fee Maintenance on the above services: FREE (normally greater than $300 monthly, but no charge due to a few knowledgeable "clanners") Listening to a bunch of whining, complaining, and ungrateful people: PRICELESS :sorry: Just my 2 cents
April 20, 200521 yr but i like to listen to *CERTAIN* people argue... not like the TAC members but some of the clanners...but anyway, i would never turn off the hudtext....i love watching what people type...(personally i think it would make me a better player though because i tend to look at text more than the game) :sorry:

April 21, 200521 yr i prefer to keep the text on. i have alot of friends in the firearms community (meaning my firearms community is ppl that play on our server, not thouse ppl from the actual FA forums) and thats what makes the game better too -G
April 21, 200521 yr trust me, if I had money i would donate. As it is, I am a college student, and in fact worth a LOT more dead than alive (my bank acct has negative money in it :peace: ). Also, i really dont think of TAC as a "clan", "clan" insinuates something primitive and in some cases rather barbaric. Now that might apply to a lot of other gaming groups *cough*99% of CSS*cough*, but not to ours
April 21, 200521 yr Salute Gator, senior admins and donating players of TAC for much time and effort over the yrs. :peace: Microphone can be annoying at times, yes. If someone continually hogs it, or talks disrespectfully or whatever, just mute him on tab menu. In my opinion it's the ability to talk to and hear team that makes this game more fun then games with no team talk. TAC has long been one of the best servers for it's attempts to keep fair fun play by weeding out those that do otherwise

It has seperate clauses you haven't heard about because you're not me. I was still correct though.

April 21, 200521 yr I've been a part of the FA community for almost 6 years now, I've seen it through it's infancy, maturing into an awsome game of thousands of players and decline into a state of pathetic-ness. I've been contributing (negatively and positively) for far too long to turn my back on it. I disappeared for 5 months after a couple things happened last year, and made me realize that I've made too many friends shut them all out. I'm not about to pull a FA team and neglect everyone that I've met.

April 22, 200521 yr "As the forums turn" was a suggestion awhile ago. yes the FA community does suck. i read the FA forums all the time. they cannot have one single discussion in a thread without it getting hijacked or turning into a flame war. its pathetic. pubbing seems to be ok. there is alot of whining about bugs, FAMAS, the usual, and its too bad there is also whining from newbies that cannot adjust to FA after playing ("OMG WTF MY XHAIR IS ON THE GUY BUT THE BULLETS DONT HIT HIM??") its obvious, wherever u go, whatever game you play there will always be complainers. all of them from noobs that cannot kill anyone and die 5 seconds after spawning. the only games that i can say there is minimal whining is NS, DoD, and BF1942 (but then again, i have only played it a few times) once again i just go one ranting about nothing so in conclusion: 1. quit FA 2. play a good game with a great community like NS. 3. once u are in possesion of a paypal account, send gator a late xmas present :peace:
