Nerds Gone Wild 2005

There is a huge difference here. WE DON'T DO IT IN PUBLIC AND LET A VIDEO OF IT GET ON THE INTERNET!!!

Theres a BIG difference between nerds and gamers. I'm a gamer, I play games as a hobby. I don't go out in public dressed up as a CT or T and run around with a water gun screaming RUSH A!! RUSH A!! with my plastic knife out.

Gaming is a hobby just like mountain bike riding, RC plane flying, painting, etc. I may be a COMPUTER nerd since I work with/on PC's at work then go home and play games, but those guys are flat out NERDS!!!

every word, completly agreed.

except occasionally i type in the wrong IM window and i get responses like "wth is hyper threading? DAMN GEEK!!"

you guys are EQUIVOCATING, we are just as much nerds/geeks (freaks is WAY too harsh a term for us or them) as those movie guys, maybe not quite as public about it (mind you, a server/forum is STILL a large public group of people, just ones you cant physically see). Get over it, we are still part of the same demographic and its hypocritical to mock them so harshly

Insulting other nerds is what being a nerd is all about. Makes you feel superior. A King among nerds.

They were doing stupid stuff on camera. I think we're supposed to laugh at them.

Yeah I agree with that. I do spend a lot of time on the computer playing games and messing with photoshop and stuff during the week days. But on the weekends I am always out hanging with friends and stuff. And I don't go around with plastic toys pretending to hit my friends with them.

you guys are in denial : )

It was a funny video, but not something Im going think any less of them for.

gg

defcon, u just gotta realize that we arent all nerds/geeks. there are alot of simple casual players here. u dont have to drag them down to your level

i and others have good social status in our school. why? i keep my gaming/computer knowledge to myself except talking to other gamers, but still keeping it at a normal level. no one wants to hear about owning the whole server or getting the new GeForce. except the hot korean girls

ok, so dont stereotype everyone here just because we play online PC games and have good computer knowledge.

I don't use plastic toys, I use a bamboo instrument known as a "Shenai" and I don't pull my blows

So to me, that stuff you are making fun of looked fun to me.

That makes me a nerd or geek? Hell yes!!

I used to write stories for Elfquest and Star Trek writing clubs.

I used to go to SF/F conventions and be one of the tards who'd dress up in a robe chanting and hitting myself in the face with a board for a laugh (Watch Monty Python's "Quest For The Holy Grail" if you don't get that subreference)

My hero as a kid was Luke Skywalker.

I used to live for the classic "Battlestar Galactica" for the space dogfights.

I've read Lord Of The Rings over 10 times.

Just to name a few things.

So I'm a tard for being a Geeky Nerd? Fine, then I'm a tard. I find that hard to take seriously from a bunch of gamers who the world looks at in the same light. "Hey Kettle, your black!"

And this from my fellow clanmates. Again, you guys disappoint me.

Ever dumb, dacing around with light sabers  But whatever makes you happy is what matters  So I guess an :p is in order here.

Definition of NERD:

Someone who is socially inept and unstylish; especially one with an unnatural devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits.

Definition of GEEK:

Short for computer geek, an individual with a passion for computers, to the exclusion of other normal human interests. Depending on the context, it can be used in either a derogatory or affectionate manner. Basically, geek and nerd are synonymous.

I am a geek as far as FA is concerned but that is the only game I play. But, I am not at all a nerd. Hmmmm, I am an enigma.

I don't use plastic toys, I use a bamboo instrument known as a "Shenai" and I don't pull my blows

Silly nerd  (j/k plz don't hurt me with your Shenai :( )

me personaly, i wouldn't call my self a "nerd" Am I an avid gamer? Hell yes. I'll play about anything (except sports and racing, grr... :p or halo lol, don't consider that as a game realy :p ) and I play them alot.

However... then I also skateboard. Don't notice many nerds that skate :p Plus, I usualy do just stick around my Gamer frieinds, perhaps some people I might skate with as well, but thats it. Although, I could say, i could have fun at an online gaming convention sort of thing :)

eh ... maybe i'm an enigma like klink too. Pmg, we are like almost brothers now (or brother and sister? hmmz.... :p )

and all this, and i haven't watched the damned video yet. Wow O.o. I'll watch tomorrow.

I don't have a "passion" for computers, but I do have a passion for hating my computer at times :o
that quite possibly could have been the dumbest thing ive ever seen in my 26 years on this earth. Wow man, just wow
