Guild Wars sucks in my opinion. I don't even know what to call it. Minorly Multiplayer PvP F-Fest With a Pointless Roleplaying Storyline. An MMPFFwPRS. I wouldn't pay 10 cents a month to play it. That being said it carries no monthly fee and I don't regret the 70 bucks the CE cost me. The game would be better if they just gave you access to every damn skill for PvP characters and completed the separation of PvE and PvP gameplay. Play WoW on a PvE server if you an MMORPG. WoW is a better way to kill time until Sigil gets done with Vanguard: Saga of Heroes; and you damn well better plan on buying that.

Basald: if you don't like unlocking skills, play as the premade builds they have out. you can still tweak them, but they come with skills.

 

as for a pointless story line... i'd say the Role-playing part of it is much more story oriented than any other MMORPG (I.e, its not just sitting at a training spot for hours on end to get to the highest level. Basicly, its actualy fun.)

 

and i'm sure you had fun when we played PvP at the tombs.

 

anyways, guild wars realy isn't a MMORPG, i belive they called it a CORPG (something like a competitive online rpg) Which is quite true.

 

also, if you want to try some more stuff we do have a guild hall now So GvG's are entirely posible.

Nadril, the reason I hate it and you don't is because I have far more experience in this gaming genre than is probably healthy. The premade builds suck horribly. Not a single one of those configs, save the monk/ele build is worth a damn. There hasn't been a game on par with EverQuest (which is officially dead) in the recent years. Vanguard will hopefully be the first. In the mean time its just a matter of playing the mmo that sucks the least. GW would get alot more hours from me if PvP had skills unlocked like in Beta. WoW got a 9/10's just about everywhere and won Game of the Year at some big site whos name I forget. The site later denounced WoW as GotY. Those ratings on review sites mean jack. 50,000 is a crap population for an MMO, especially considering the count includes people who played it once and put it back in the box. There is no monthly fee so how can there be an accurate count of subscriptions. This game is Diablo 3 and it sucks. If it was p2p ArenaNet would be bankrupt right now. Most gamers dont know a good MMORPG from a crappy one because they didnt play UO, AO, EQ, AC1/2, etc.

so what pray tell if so wrong with EQ2. keep in mind it is not EQ 1 .

I think that I would take the opinion of a major game site (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/guild-wars/613203p1.html?fromint=1) over your opinion.I've played all the games you mentioned there and more (SW:G, EQII, WOW) and over them all I enjoy Guild Wars a lot more.

my dad is big into video games, especially RPGs.So, he introduced me to Ultima Online at an early age, age 8 as you pointed. That was the first MMORPG I played, and since then I've played basically all of the major ones, usually sharing characters with my dad (that or he pays for monthly fee and I just pay him back the cost)
