June 1, 200520 yr Well I got my 6800GT today, problem is it doesn't work... It displays static and fuzzy %#%& I guess it'll be another 2 weeks before I get a new card... I now hate Leadtek... The card was hot to the touch after only being on a minute or two, that just seems $%&
June 1, 200520 yr Whoa.. That's strange.. maybe it could be the fans not working, or the settings were over-tweaked.
June 1, 200520 yr Did you plug in the extra power connector? Is your powersupply able to power it? I was going to ask the same thing, because the power supply connector provides the secondary power needed for the card fan, and some other elements of the card as well I believe. I am a big fan of MSI cards, so I always lean to buy them. Good luck! The good news is that you still have time to get the card before BF2 comes out.
June 1, 200520 yr Author yeah i hooked up the other power cord. The card snapped in perfectly with no problems. its weird because you can see the display enough to operate the computer but its all static and fuzzy I'm gonna put it in 1 more time before I ship it back tomorrow. edit: my PS is 450watts i think.
June 2, 200520 yr pfft, only 2 weeks. My 6600gt is fubar locked at lower fps than my radeon 7500. Turns out its one of the defective 6600gts. BUt in all brilliance they said I cant rma it because "they" said No card can get wrecked like that. But im a do something to get this fixed. And it wont be pretty.
June 2, 200520 yr Punisher, do you uninstalled the drivers of the old graphics card before to put in your pc the new one? If no, you do to reinsert the old graphics card and uninstall the old drivers and to remove this old card from the config panel too and turn off the pc + disconnect the power supply cord from current sector (AC cable) to prevent electrical shocks. Put you new card (if exist the male white connector, connect it the "+5 & +12 volts" white plug connector or buy an "Y" connectors cable) and turn on your pc and install the new drivers when asked by win or manualy by the cd-rom into your new card package... If it doesn't work, your new graphics card is death: fan on it don't work? But the seller can exchange it because it's under warranty, but never say that you have a mistake when you have installed it, always say that there is their fault by the postal shocks when the card travel. Egidio.
June 2, 200520 yr Author I removed the old drivers and installed the ones that came with the card right after I installed it. A fresh reboot didn't fix it.
