June 13, 200520 yr Ok, i have decided to get BF2..however, my graphics card sux real bad. Do any of you have any suggestions as to which Graphics card would allow me to play it on atleast medium settings *low always sucks*. thanx
June 13, 200520 yr it would be better if you told us what your GFX card is. Mines a 9800pro 128mb and it runs the game really well If you have something like a gforce4, I'm pretty sure that could run the game good enough, but below that you'll have to set everything to lowest possible just dl the demo and try, that's what demos are for.
June 13, 200520 yr You need XP for one. A processor of at least 1.7mhz. 512mb MINIMUM ram. Then a 6600GT AGP or a 9800 Pro. I would get a 6600GT myself. BF2 will work better with Nvidia than ATI.
June 13, 200520 yr Author ok heres what i got : Windows Xp Service Pack 1 (2 lames up my comp) Celaron 2.20GHz (I assume this be my processor) 768Mb RAM At the moment i have a GeForce Card but im not entirely sure which one, any help on how to find out what be much appreciated.
June 13, 200520 yr Get to control panel goto system and harware and device manager. Look at display adapters. Anyway ya look at it. I would go with a 6600GT.
June 14, 200520 yr wellsy ur bro thinks u have an mx440... i dunno whether he means on his pc or yours or if you both use the same one :\ i agree with Mac, but it all depends on how much your willing to spend.
June 15, 200520 yr Author yeah ok i have : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 400 i think my brother has his eye on the 6600 card but im not sure what hes doing. Its his birthday on Thursday and i think hes trying to convince my dad to get him one *fingers crossed*
June 15, 200520 yr 6600 or 6600GT. Either will work but the 6600GT is way better. And the MX440 suxors except for FA.
June 18, 200520 yr Author things didnt go so well BF 3 will be out bfore i get a new grphics card *cries*
June 20, 200520 yr Author some of you guys seem to know abit more about newegg.com than i do but do you know if they do deliveries to uk? if so i can get the card way cheaper (unless the shipping fee is huge). thanx
June 20, 200520 yr Author would a Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb be suitable? 7th from top --> http://webplus.silicon-group.co.uk/acatalog/Silicon_Group_AGP_CARDS_16.html
June 20, 200520 yr Wellsy don't get a 9600. Even a beefed up one with 256. I had one and hated it. If you're not even AGP you're pretty much out of luck. Build a new system from scratch, salvaging drives, NIC, etc from your current system. When it comes to cases err on the side of too large than too small. You'll probably need a new PSU to run whatever card you buy and a bunch of fans too.
June 21, 200520 yr A completely new system. LOLOLOLOL No NO and NO I have a ATI 9100 with a AMD 1600 Duron running at 2100mhz 175 fsb. Onboard sound. 512mb of PC3200 . It runs at 1024x768 Low low low low off off off Low Low. VIEW AT MAX 100%. You get the idea. It looks a little dry but it is TOTALLY PLayable. I have 2 ATI 9600XT's that are at 200 FSB 2100mhz AMD XP's 512mb of PC3200. They run totally Sweet at 1024x768 with everything at least at Medium and some stuff at High. This game does scale pretty well.
