EA Bans 1,000 Servers from Master List

I found this on planet battlefield.

Apparently, EA has banned 1,000 servers from the master list for modding the time limit (unlimited time) and unlocking the weapons.

But you can still enter the server's IP to get in.

"WELL THANKS ALOT EA.

My server has been packed with 50+ people for the last 3 days. Great battles, good match ups and just a general feeling of Kickass brotherhood.

But what happend...my server along with 1,000 others are no longer listed on EA's master list. Rumor is the good old Communist bastards at EA decided that modding their Demo to an unlimited time scale (you know so we could actually play a God damn map properly) is a terrible thing so they banned all the modded servers.

If this isnt the proof in the pudding that EA is out to destroy the private Server community. You do one thing that changes there default server program and whammo your off the master list. Why? maybe its because their customers who pay a **** load for under performance servers have to leave there servers stock and it would be unfair.

I dont know if this rumor is true or not, but something smells like **** and I promise if EA wants a damn war with the Private Server community we will give them a damn war.

I don't care if all of us Admins have to spam every damn message board with our server Ip's, call people at their homes, send free samples of tide along with business cards with our server information...but we will not be silenced.

The mod community and especially the private server community makes the BF series what it is, not the other way around. Where the ones that spend our own dollars our own time to make enviroments that sell your product, and all you do is shoot us right in the back.

What possible reason would make EA spit in the face of those who promote their product. Let me fill you bastards in suits with a little advise you wont own this community and your servers will never come close to what we will provide. Get a clue and let us use the tools to make this community as successful as 1942.

I am severely pissed and so are 1,000 other Admins. You ticked off the wrong crowd."

;)

We were one of the ver first servers up and running on launch day, and I have been tracking the numbers each day. Yeserday there were 1700+ servers, and today there are 1900+ servers. I don't thnk this is an accuate statement on the poster's part. We are not unlocking weapons, and have only extended the 32-player map (yes, this map is much larger) so players could have enough time to see how the squad concept worked.

well I'm not sure, it doesn't really give an exact number in there, but oh well.

HAHA now that they think the community will just "hack" everything up, they aren't going to release the ranked servers publicly.

Wow.. all we did was take off the time limit and unlock the weapons, which WAS INCLUDED IN THE DAMN GAME. Why the hell would EA release the locked weapons in the demo, and get mad when someone puts a "0" or "1" in a .txt line and get so damn mad? Jesus, we didn't create aimbots or wallhacks or anything.

and get mad when someone puts a "0" or "1" in a .txt line

ROFL

i havent got to play the demo yet, been hooked on the new GTA D:!

yea but thats really BS, just changing some variables = 0mgZ t3h h4x bannt!!

;)

lol new GTA...

its been out for nearly a year or so ;)

anyway on topic... i think its pretty bad when they know people can do this stuff and expect them not to change the command lines in the txt docs, sounds like all they (EA) wanted to do was cause trouble for themselves. ;)

I was thinking about it.. and EA could have made it much more difficult to find the unlocks if they wanted to. I think EA purposely made it simple so they could say, "This is why we are going to have ranked servers! So these hackers can't hinder the gameplay!". Damn them for doing this. 12 minutes isn't enough to do anything. It sucks so bad. I don't even want to play because it resets every 12 minutes.

the PC version, nub ;p

and yeah, i've "aquired" the game aswell, and it's awesome, but after the mission where you go by the military base to steal those 6 boxes and go back, the game just crashed right after it said "Mission Complete" :| took me like 3 tries to finish it too :[

but BF2 Demo > GTA SA
