Where were you living prior to the move? You may pass through my area....I live in Alabama.....my dad lives in south GA (not far from FL)....off of I-75.Also when you get down there I think that area is covered by bellsouth dsl. Bellsouth does a GREAT JOB on the DSL in the southern states. The cable is good in some places but I havent heard of any beating bellsouth dsl. The speed is 1500 down and 256 up!
I was in Florida about 5 months ago, then I moved here.I might be moving back, either that or Arizona.I lived in Tampa, West Coast

Hmmm DSL, I'll talk to my dad about it... what's cables normal down n up? I always forget. And how much does that DSL cost? We're actually planning to get cable, my dad already looked into it, but we have to get digital tv in order to get the internet access cable. But I wouldn't mind the digital, more cool channels, like tech tv.And I don't think we're going thru alabama, we're in PA right now, I'm pretty sure we're going south-east to the eastern sates and stay in NC, just north of SC, neer where a guy from my CS clan lives, and then we're continuing. But I'll ask my dad what route we're taking.Sound cool Obiki, you trying to transfer schools or get a job? Cuz after my senior year I'm trying to go to Florida Tech, which is in town. My bro is probably gonna leave the state and you could move in with us lol. BTW, my bro and I are fraturnal twins, so we graduate at the same time.
The DSL cost is $45 if you have some of their calling options. Tell your dad they have a cool deal right now where you get every calling option, dsl, and unlimited free long distance for like $90 (plus or minus a few bucks depending on tax in the state). As for the speed you will need to ask the cable company.......I dont know what cable company you will have down there. ( I am fairly certain about your phone company though)If it is verizon I would get cable however (I heard their DSL sucks). As for the speed I stay locked in around 1231 down and 218 which is really good. The cool thing is it almost NEVER changes...even during peak hours which a cable modem will almost never be able to do. Speeds on cable can burst from 500 - 2000 down BUT they can dip even lower during peak times....when most people want to game....THUS you ping would SUCK!That is why I left cable. You guys can show around for broadband but if they have Bellsouth DSL I would lean toward it more because of the high customer ratings on www.broadbandreports.com . That is a great site to do research about service in that area. You can search by zip code. It will tell you what the average price is and you can read what users in that area have to say. Not to mention they have some great forums.

Actually, with payiong for digital cable and internet access we'll be paying 90 bucks (I think we're getting warner), plus 22 for basic phone service from bell south. But if we payed 90 for phone stuff plus dsl, we would still pay for basic cable, so that would end up costing more (My mom likes deals). I don't realy mind the ping jumps though, they're not usually too bad. I'll suggest it though anyways.

YEAh, I'm gonna live right to the south of Cape Canaveral. But NASA has stuff in other places too. Like in Houston, Texas, and in Langley, Virginia.
It was cool in Houston. I remember when you could go in and look at a Saturn V rocket (the one used for the moon landing, for those who don't know) laying on its side. That thing is huge! Plus they have a whole bunch of other rockets. Now you have to pay to enter the "park," but they have a day of free admission once a year. Houston was great. You say an hour from Melbourne to Jacksonville, David? You won't get there that fast unless you are seriously breaking the speed limit. At least you're close to Orlando in Melbourne. You can get a one year pass to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for about $100. That's a bargain considering it costs $50 to get into each park individually for one day. yeah, the DSL here is pretty good. It only goes down on the rare occasion when the DNS server dies for a few hours. I pay about $45 a month, but I only paid $20 for the first 3 because of some special sale thingy, used to hook in new customers; it worked :D Jacksonville is right off of I-95. It's pretty close to the coast. I don't like salt water, so I swim in my pool. :o P.S. Mr. Mayntz went to Florida Tech, remember, G?

first of all, remember whos drivin here bud. lol. sec, ya i rem bout fl tech and mr mantz. he was telling us he went to a bar there next to the train tracks and how he would speed past the train to be in time with the train (he was our physics teacher and he used that example for time standing still as in a black hole). he also said that for every train car that passed, thats how much each glass of beer would be in dimes, so if the train was 10 cars long, beer's $1 a glass. ya neways. i like FL but JAX sux. not enough to do. i know that [TA] - Hayabusa is moving to Gainsville and I'm moving to Tampa for college, so ask us to get together some time and we'll lan.
