June 25, 200520 yr tonight i had a hockey game which was the championship which resulted in a bench clearing fight, very awesome and fun. except the part where im 95% sure i rebroke my humorous, from being piled on by 3 kids, (i was fighting one and 2 joined in like and brought me down to the ice and piled on me), so im asking for suggestions on what to do about it other than seeing a doctor, because i dont want to stop playing and the next league starts in a week. thanks
June 25, 200520 yr Put your arm in a slin and don't use it at all if possible. Till the next week of hockey keep some ice and ib profen. When hockey starts you are prolly going to have to tough it with lots of pain killers. Oh and if you can, just see if you can just get the x-rays somewhere. You don't need a radiologist to tell you if it is broken or refractured. I know some areas that just do x-rays, so if you can that might be a good idea.
June 25, 200520 yr if its broken near the upper humerus you probly wont be doing any playing for a few weeks..
June 25, 200520 yr Im with G on this one. While it would be nice to hear about someone reaping what they sow, I dont want you to be in pain and risk PERMANENT injury. See a doctor, accept the consequence of your actions Besides, he will prolly prescribe those awesome narcotics that put you in happy land (hydrocodone, vicodin, Tylenol 3, the good stuff)
June 25, 200520 yr this is why I decided not to play hockey I most likely would've pulled off my skate and slashed someone in a fight

June 25, 200520 yr Author i found the xray i had from when i first broke it, so you know where on the bone we're talking about /monthly_06_2011/post-571-130810173857_thumb.jpg
June 25, 200520 yr Just put your arm in a slin and call it good. Thats all a doc will do for ya as well because I don't believe they can put a cast on that. If it is there though, you definately might want to let it heal because I can almost garuntee that if you get hit there or hit someone else there. You will not be standing at the end of it. LOL... Also, if you take a lot of pain killers, I don't know if you will be able to play hockey with all that running through you. It would be interesting though!
June 25, 200520 yr Smooth. Let it heal naturally (it will eventually) and the bones won't line up. Then you can play all the hockey you want, until you can't move the arm anymore. [/sarcasm] Go see a doctor, at least get it checked before you end up doing MORE damage to it.
June 25, 200520 yr HEY EVERYBODY LOOK! JIMMY GOT INTO A FIGHT! and he got squashed like the bug he is. anyway, go see a doctor. if you dont ill look up where you live and hurt you worse >:]. oh and you should probably mention you broke it before. and if all else fails and I DO HAVE TO SHOW UP...well then id recommend hiding in a closet. <3 Jimmy. seriously goto a doctor, check it out, stop drinking(or no <3), and accept the consequences of your actions. i like you Jimmy and i would never want you to get injured unless i did it. maybe even not then. goto the doctor.
June 25, 200520 yr Think of it this way. Would you rather play 5 more seasons on an improperly treated fracture and play never again, or take this season off and let it heal to enjoy a lifetime of hockey. Dont think of the here and now think of the future.
June 25, 200520 yr you cant just not play the first few weeks of the season? couldnt you just be on a team and sit on the bench for a coupla weeks? go see a doctor.
June 25, 200520 yr i got an idea. dont be stupid. go see the doc. -G I know a guy that screwed up his wrist doing just about the same thing you want to do. He can barely do anything with the hand now. Go see a doctor.
June 25, 200520 yr Author stop drinking psh. nevar. Think of it this way. Would you rather play 5 more seasons on an improperly treated fracture and play never again, or take this season off and let it heal to enjoy a lifetime of hockey. Dont think of the here and now think of the future. good point. you cant just not play the first few weeks of the season? couldnt you just be on a team and sit on the bench for a coupla weeks? i was thinking of that, and if i dont see the doctor (dont worry i probably will now) ill probably do that, thanks for the suggestions everybody
June 25, 200520 yr so when Steve posts that you went drinking and driving(which i KNOW YOU WONT)and you get in an accident youll be sorry you were drinking, that is, IF you live. im just concerned thats all. i know people that are pretty messed up and they are my friends. some of them drink, some dont. but in the end, the ones that are messed up are the ones that drink.
June 25, 200520 yr Author i dont drink like a moron, and i would never get in a car intoxicated, no matter what. so you have nothing to worry about

It seems to me that drunk drivers come out un-harmed while the person he hit (kids mostly ) are killed its unfair that children (including myself im only 14 ) are killed like this...
June 26, 200520 yr Author my old health teacher was killed by a drunk driver and the drunk driver is fine >:0
June 26, 200520 yr Jimmy.....I was saying why cant you go get the doctor to fix it and THEN sit out.....not just bypass the doctor and sit out.
