Rock you like a Hurricane! Denis Tracker

Featured Replies

I am listening to that Scorpions song rock you like a hurricane....

Looks like I am going down south again.... :D

Sneaky you may want to start moving north...

I got orders to leave out early Sunday morning. This tracker below should update every 4 hours or so in this post like the last one if any wants to keep track. I am going to take my camera and video camera again in case I get any free time.

thought it was by the scorpians, anyways good luck. why would you go farther south? isnt that into the hurricane

You were right....I had been listening to styxx and forgot what I was doing I guess. Thanks.

I don't know about you guys, but I think I would rather take earthquakes than hurricanes. I've been through a couple of ~4.0 earthquakes that were on a fault very close to my home. The house shook pretty well for a good 5-10 seconds - I'm surprised nothing broke.

Yeah plus if the ground breaks you can throw a penny down and see how long it takes to hit bottom.

ya earthquakes>hurricanes, i know that sounds weird cuz i dont want any of em but i do prefer earthquakes. lol sharp has only been through 4.0s ahahah. i remember i was near joshua tree or something like that gonna go fishing and we pulled over to get some bait and stuff and i was goin to the restroom when like a 5. something hit. i was scared :D

no, i'd rather take a hurricane that would rip apart my house instead of an earthquake that would shake and break a few glasses.

Is this one supposed to be as bad as Ivan? Worse? Not as bad?

Im just praying that another tree doesnt fall on our roof :D

Anyone know what the forecasted wind speed is for when it goes over AL? I know it says >73 mph on there but that is extremely broad.

anyone know what Ivan's wind speed was going over central AL?

we sold TONS of generators and stuff today at home depot. silly rich tampa people......

ummm...our power was out for a week after Ivan......I for one am extremely glad my dad bought a generator. It was enough to keep the food fresh and run a couple of fans and some lights. Silly, I think not.

I am seeing the first wave of rain already. Its that little strip thats north of the storm. Its passin by right now. Some light rain and thunder is all so far.

What category was Ivan when it passed over central AL? They say Dennis is supposed to be a low 3.

Edit: Just found the answer to my last question. Ivan was a strong 3 when it came over AL. Im kinda scared :D

Have fun Statie! Stay hydrated, dehydration is a humans worst enemy! No guys, hurricanes are better than Earthquakes, because very strong earthquakes can break bridges and buildings (That aren't fortified for EQs). I think the strongest reason hurricanes are better(but still bad) is that hurricanes can be predicted weeks in advance, plenty of time to prepair, and evacuate. With those EQs, you have no idea it's coming. Scientists still can't predict them.

Yea, but it seems there is a big hurricane every couple of years with smaller ones in between. Small earthquakes come rarely, while the big ones that can do damage come even more infrequently.

They both have their pluses and minuses.
