1) There is children playing on usa servers because on european server it's prohibited for the children under 18 years old to play any online games cos in fact of peoples like you!

But the fact remains, we do not allow it on our servers, nor will we change it becuase you feel this way.

 

Bottom line, using our servers is a privelage, and not a right, and we will not alter our views to fit your society.

It's not offensive, it's not slang, it's not hateful / rasict. Some of us have it (don't know any females reside here, probably not, and I woudn't be surpised) so what's the big deal? How can kids be traumatized from a simple word they probably learned already in school (they shoudn't even be playing an M rated game in the first place). Any word can be used as an insult so saying it can be combined with somthing else is nonsense, with some creativity you can combine some words to make some hateful slurs. You also need it to live, where did you come from? Thin air? Nope, somthing we like to call reproductive cycle! Some of the words in the filter shoudn't be there and you know that, especially this. the reason why we block ***** is because its probably never going to get used in a normal conversation and its most likley to be used duragativly

 

part of the reason why we block it is to help shield younger kids that play

 

but the main reason is it simply stops flame wars if you cant swear at people and use the words that are on the filter flame wars really dont happen

 

and people just shut up and play

So by your logic, age determines intelligence, and toleration. How were the people who were part of the ***? Also the fact that you're calling me a 12 year old because you cant see my point of view is thereby proving that you are unable to look at the other side of the picture, thereby on your own logic, making your self a little lower then a 12 year old, maybe even a few weeks before your tenth.

First off, younger kids should not be playing, the rating of Half Life is either Teen, or Mature (i cant remember which), so younger childeren should not be playing this game, and if they are, they should be mature enough to deal with issues that come up in such enviroments.

 

Also, you guys always seem to scream "If you dont like it... leave", so if such little kid doesnt like "bad words" then they should just leave. Dunno, its kind of contradicting your self.

im glad you think your mature, as we think we are as well. fact is young kids DO play this game. young kids ARE playing WITH you. we are a family place and generally the only time that word is ever used is derogatory (w/e i cant spell), which we dont like here. im glad youre mature but other people that play arnt. simple as that

Agreed. As to others that want to discuss such stuff, this is not the place. Out of respect that there are others and atleast their parents that would feel the same. Some young minds may get impression it's something they should concern themselves with. Far more important are learning good talking skills, respect for other's differing opinions, not arguing, learning what may or may not be clearly humor, etc. I think this entire thread should be removed.
