July 11, 200520 yr Woohoooo! Power is back on, yard is cleaned up already, no trees down at all. No damage in sight. Hurricane.....or should I say Tropical Storm Dennis was much more merciful on us than Ivan was. Ivan took out 13 trees (including one on the house), Dennis: 0 trees. So we were lucky. The storm wasnt nearly as bad as most people thought.
July 11, 200520 yr Ivan took out 13 trees (including one on the house), Dennis: 0 trees. Were there any trees left after Ivan? If not, that might explain why. Or, the trees that were left were the tough ones so if they survived one storm, they might as well survive another. That's what you get when CNN covers it Because a news channel somehow affects the weather.
July 11, 200520 yr Because a news channel somehow affects the weather. I meant that they were exagerating (sp) WAY too much... [bIGGEST SMILEY EVER] [/bIGGEST SMILEY EVER]
July 11, 200520 yr Author actually everyone was saying that it was gonna be a big storm. Local channels, weather channel, all news channels. It just weakened for some reason really quickly. Oh and yes, there are plenty of trees left.
July 11, 200520 yr Suposibly it was realy strong when it hit cuba, nearly a 5 i think? but it weakened alot on the land.
July 11, 200520 yr I am back...sorry no pictures......... They sent a lot of us home early and since my wife had been sick I was one of the first. I was in the Selma area last night and didnt see much other than only a few trees down. On the way back I saw several north of selma toward Hale County as I went North. Hey Sneaky I had to take a cold shower at the National Gaurd on Hwy 80 there in Selma since. For some reason they said they only had power on part of their building...generator I guess. I just know the hot water didnt work not the AC! I was talking to friends that got sent down to Escambia County on the FL/AL line and they said it wasnt that bad there either. They did tell us to keep an eye on the news for the a new one forming. I havent had time to watch yet as most of my bag havent even been taken out of my car yet.

For the second part... electric water heating. haha. We have gas at my house very nice for when the power goes out. You should have just stopped by my house. Oh and if that was just a jab at the crappiness of Selma, I know already. I agree
