June 14, 200322 yr Awesome pic, Dex.I really love Desert and i think that in FA its severly underpowered.1 shot all enemies in path are dead no matter what. It IS .5 isnt it ?
June 14, 200322 yr Well man the .50AE doesn't put a flame out like that. I too have fired one. While I agree it is massive and hurt just to shoot. its not a tank. I thought hand guns were basically near impossible to own there unless you are elite military or elite police. I mean the regular cops cant even have one for god sakes.*cough* Photoshop *cough*
June 14, 200322 yr It is quite possible thats an unaltered picture. Look how dark the room is that he is shooting in. As for it breaking your arms if fired wrong...Nah...I've fired handguns larger than .50AE and lived. I wouldent call the Desert Eagle in .50AE a pleasent gun to shoot, but it's not going to snap your arms off. If you have a poor grip the worst you'll come out with is a bruised palm and sore wrists.Given the option to buy one, I'd take the .357MAG or .44MAG. Ammo is MUCH easier to find, and the recoil is hardly noticiable with .357MAG.For defensive purposes, given that I really wanted to defend myself with a 10 inch 4.5 pound gun...I'd get the new XIX model in .440 Cor-Bon. .440 Cor-Bon is basically a .50AE round necked down to .44. You get much better performance without making the gun harder to handle.Heres a vid of a DE being fired.http://www.zvis.com/images/guns/video/dick1.mpg
June 14, 200322 yr Thats a big ball of fire even for the dark but I guess possible (I am not photoshop expert). How are you going to get around the legal thing?
June 14, 200322 yr Please resize the picture in your sig, it's WAY too big. And instead of making multiple posts one after the other, just go back and edit it.I'm not sure a Desert Eagle is a good idea for a first pistol, but if you have the time and money, go for it.I was also under the impression that all handguns are now banned in England. Are there some exceptions I'm not aware of?And no...guns are not sold on playgrounds in the US. Desert Eagles especially, being some what rare here.In the US, you must be 21 years old to purchase a handgun from a dealer, and in most states there is a background check and a waiting period. The legal age to posses a handgun is 18.
June 14, 200322 yr On the terms of protection.....(which I am fairly good at) I would say while the larger bullets are great but what about that follow up shot for a miss?? Even the best trained officers in shooting situations their score goes down 50-60% or more in some cases. This is with regular type weapons (.40/.45/9mm) I cant even think of trying to follow up with that kind of a shot with a large bore pistol. Those guns are mostly for collectors and gun enthusiast which there is nothing wrong with but for protection I wouldn't go with anything larger than the 10mm which depending on the shooter is pushing it. The best protection gun is the Glock in .45 or .40 decent power without over penetration while still allowing for the fast follow up shot. Not to mention you can carry more ammo in a mag. I am issued the Sig Sauer P-220 (.45) but I had much rather have my old trust Glock Model 22 (.40S&W) cause it holds 15+1 and is damn sweet to shoot!PS Okibi Hiryuu,That depends on the state for the possession of the weapons. The fed guide line is 21. There are some state exceptions. In Alabama you must be 21 to buy or posses....UNLESS you are a police officer at which time you can have one at 21 BUT it must be purchase by the department you work for.
June 14, 200322 yr Now thats easier to read ...sorry dex I took the sig out...please resize it. I mean it looks cool but it make the threat VERY hard to read. Say 250x250 or something along those lines.
June 14, 200322 yr Being a shooter and at-home gunsmith, claiming that allowing more guns causes crime is leading into an argument you don't wish to get into with me. The sarcastic (?) comment about 14 year olds in America buying Desert Eagles on play grounds isn't appreciated either.I really hope I've judged you wrong, but your posts are beginning to reek more and more of BS.Keep in mind there are a number of experienced shooters and Police officers who frequent these boards, it would be best not to talk about things you have little knowledge on.You sound like a younger person, so I'm going to assume this is all due to inexperience in online forums.
June 14, 200322 yr well everyone is entitled to their own opinion. i'll be going then. i know what you're trying to say. so far do's Huh?and your sig is still huge.
June 14, 200322 yr The other reason I took your sig off because it says things I don't think are appropriate. Considering we don't allow thing like that in the server. I am not so sure it should be here either. Nothing against you or anything I am talking about the text part of your sig:"I GOT THE MACHETE FROM O.J. I'M READY TO MAKE EVERYONE'S THROAT SAG! You faggots keep eggin me on till I have you at knifepoint, then you beg me to stop? SHUT UP! Gimme your hands and feet! "
June 14, 200322 yr that i'm BS'in so far do's i'm off I believe you fired a Desert Eagle, but much of your comments after that were either off or just plain silly. Like breaking your arms shooting it, or it killing everything for 3 miles. You may simply be misinformed, I just want to help you out.and what does "so far do's" mean?must be a English thing
June 14, 200322 yr soz statecop thought you were on about yourself. in england handguns were banned for a while for some reason but a few years ago they allowed them again for some reason. hence the sudden jump of shootings in england. police ain't allowed to carry guns becuase they say it engourages criminals to carry guns too if they know they're gonna get shot at by police (this is what someone told me). you can have a handguns, shot guns and certain rifles over here, like for hunting etc.. no m16's or machine guns lol... and i've got some form from the police that i have to fill in too so if they find some .50 ae shells laying about they'll come banging on my door and throw me in the slammer, but a few ppl at this range have desert egales, only one has the .50 AE tho All countries from Europa handguns are banned, but not like England, the Polices have gun in the holder belt !To buy a handgun, a special ask is introduced to the Police office, and it stay always in your house and only in the road to the fire stand ( sport club of the shoots )...Guns are not dangerous : only peoples are dangerous !Egidio.
June 15, 200322 yr I wouldnt mind having DE AE myself..........But i like Katana and No-Dachi swords better. And theyre legal here (i think). So are the bows..........
June 15, 200322 yr I have a Katana ( long sword ) & a Wakizashi ( short sword ) with a lable sheet that there are for collection swords for legal law, and a Iaïto ( as same as a real Katana but not cutting : legal importation from Japan ) for Iaïdo that i practice ; Kendo too.Tanto ( knife ) is look like a big Bowie Knife !Kotachi & Nodachi are the same words as Katana & Wakizashi but for another swords practice that Iaïdo : like Jodo that i practice too.Egidio.
June 15, 200322 yr Hmmm, to my knowledge Katana is shorter than Nodachi. They were at least couple of hundred years ago.Now maybe all pseudo-japanese crap mixed all things.........
June 15, 200322 yr Yes Ky but the diferents between the names are 5 cm ( 1 have 55 cm or 2.5 Shoku & 1 have 60 cm or 2.55 Shoku ).[ Japenese dimensions are in Shoku, Sun and Bu ].Names of the swords in deferents martial arts in weapons :In Iaïdo -> Katana & Wakizashi : practice with a Iaïto ( all in steel metal ).In Kendo & Jodo -> Tachi ( long wood sword ) & Ko-dachi ( short wood sword ) : practice in Jodo and practice Nito in Kendo ( with the twice wooded swords ).In same Kendo -> Bokken & Boku-tô ( sometime replaced by a Shô-tô ) : in Kendo Kata and Kihon Kendo no Kata ( all in wood swords ).In same Kendo too -> Shinaï ( 4 Bamboo straight together ) : in practice in Keïko ( exercices ) and matches...And i make a mistake with the Nodachi & Katana, sorry Ky.Egidio.
June 15, 200322 yr I really have troubles understanding you. And i think Nodachi is at least 10cm longer than Katana. It IS the heavy sword after all....
June 15, 200322 yr -UnwantedHero]ya I want either:A Samurai swordM1 Garandor Ak47 M1 Garand: $800Ak-47: $300Katana: $1000 (for a real one)Hmmm...Build an Ak-47 in 30.06 with a bayonet mount that takes a Katana!
